I'm looking for a good RPG to play until Skyrim comes out. I'm looking for something Oblivion-like as I've spend quite some time playing that. At first I wanted to try the latest Fable (3) but I've heard a lot of negative stuff about that and the gameplay didn't really convince me either so I guess I'll just pass. I've also played all of the Gothic series (meaning: don't need to recommend those), maybe except Arcania. Arcania videos made ma want to give it a shot but too many negative criticism has put me off... So, any recommendations for a RPG to play during summer ?

considering you like oblivion type of games i guess you want lesser rpg elements and more action and large open space stuff? Divinity 2, Morrowind (superior to oblivion in every way except graphics), Two worlds is "okey" even if the endings are rushed, TW2 while not oblivion like its still highly recommended.

Grab Planescape: Torment off of GOG; that'll keep you busy. There hasn't been an RPG to beat it as far as storytelling goes yet, and the game came out in 1999. Witcher is good too. The first one can be had on the cheap.

I recommend Divine Divinity. It's basically Diablo II + Ultima VII, which means you get a fun hack & slash combat, a lot of loot and skills to choose, very interactive environments, dialogue choices, multi-solution quests, an open world filled with places to explore and more.

It's an old 2D game, but it looks really good in widescreen high resolution. Also, the soundtrack is one of the best ever made:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5W8zLt6HpI

Buy it on GOG for 5,99:http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/divine_divinity
