A good Shooter game?

I usually only play RPG's on my computer but now i want to branch out and play some other games :]. My current computer can play a lot of games but i think the even at the highest settings, it wont be able to run CoD4 : MW2, so anything under that is fine :]

Ones that i've already played:

-Fear

-L4D

yeah. . .i dont play much shooter games. So what would you suggest i play? [no ME1/2 either, i already have that on my RPG queue to play :D]

Half-life 1 and Half-Life 2, but play ME1 and 2 before you do anything else. :D

MW2 on the PC? Go for something just a bit better like BC2, HL2 or even Stalker.

Isn't Stalker:SOC not as demanding of resources as it used to be?

nononononono! it wouldn't be responsible for me to recommend MW2 on the pc.

Half-Life 2. It's old but still very much worth playing.

You might wanna try Call of Duty 2 if you're into the linear, scripted kind of FPS. You can probably get it for $5 anywhere.

The matchaking system is terribad and the singleplayer is bleh.

hmm ok, so i've come to the conclusion that for now, i'm going to play FEAR again since i didnt get very far in it. But please still voice your opinions because i'll still need a good shooter game to play after that :D

Is L4D2 running the source engine? It's supposed to be efficient. O_o

The CanYouRunIt site is pretty much good for finding out what your system specs are -- it should be standard for those who don't know what's in their rig.

The online community is arguably the worst out of any game ever. There are loads of hackers, even more racists, and just and abundance of things that ruin the game's fun. I have to say stay away and get a Battlefield game or Team Fortress 2.
