Yea so im getting my new PC rig this weekend hopefully, and was looking for a stupidly graphically intense game to play on it. Dont suggest oblivion please although i know there will be at least one person that does now that i have asked not to :P

Any others that are released that blow the PC's brains out graphically?

 Thanks

You should try F.E.A.R.

FEAR and Oblivion dont stress at all tbh... new pcs these days, like my own can 100+ fps both oblivion and fear max @ 1280x1024.

Try Microsoft Flight Simulator X, that blows 8800GTX SLI but only because the optimization is rubbish.

Supreme commander. Crank all the setting to max and watch your new rig drop to its knees and BLEEEEEEEED while it begs for mercy. :D

Id say Oblivion but with me it crashes non stop and many others have the same problem.

FEAR ran on my old pc, P4 2gig with a GeForce 4 Ti 4400, 512 MB RAM. It wont push a new system, but it is an awesome game which looks amazing.

Get ready for the newer games, Crysis is one of the main ones. Till then as others have said, Company of Heroes and Supreme Commander are good choices.

I don't think there is a PC around that can play Armed Assult comfortably at high settings.

I'm pretty sure it's on PC as I own the game for PC. The character models are less than perfect but the environments get photo realistic at times.

It is on PC.. here in Australia it was banned though although there have been reports that some stores still sell it. It's just not very common.

lol no it wont, I did the stress test for CoH and I got over 170 fps. CNC3 has a fps cap of 30fps, maybe it's just a mask to hide the performance, it could actually be worse than SupCom because I get 40+ 99% of the time, whereas I dont know how much I would get in CNC3 because I get 30 at all times.

Armed Assault doesnt look good at all, not really "graphically intense", more like extremely bad optimization tbh.

Try the cellfactor beta, that looks amazing and does put a huge strain on hardware.

I think i'm right in assuming you want a game that looks amazing, something that will make getting the new rig worthwhile. I think some people think you want a game that stress's your system. CoH looks stunning maxed out with high res monitor. Medieval 2's battles also look amazing on full settings. Condemned and Fear use the same engine and both look nice too. forget about c&c 3, even maxed the graphics look dated but sup com also looks nice.

Armed Assault is good, but I'd have to recomend R6: Vegas if you're a fan. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is also not bad, all you have to do is look on their website for downloads and download the realistic gun skins and push all settings to max. then it looks good!!!

I agree that SupCom will be the one to really stress test your system. Make a skirmish with a 1000 unit cap and 7 AI. If you can run that smoothly in the later stages of the match, you have a winner, sir.

lol...its funny because all games mentioned i have already got..:D i think itsjust a matter of replaying these games on the better gaming pc i have obtained. I have CoH, condemened for 360, stalker etc etc.....i havent played stalker yet properly because i had to turn EVERYTHING to LOW,.......i felt so cheated :(

I recently got Call of Juarez too, will play that tonight on me laptop and divert the display to my 32" HDTV.

Also, i want to be able to plug both my 360 and PC into my DVI slot in my HDTV so they are both plugged in at the same time, I have 1 dvi slot which the 360 occupies and because im lazy :D i would like to have the PC plugged into my HDTV also. Am i right in saying that maybe an HDMI to DVI adapter will do the trick with that?

I get 495 fps maxed on 1280x1024 for CSS stress test as well, find that hard to believe?

Agreed. Armed Assault is a good choice, particularly because of the viewing depth. Unlike many dx9 games where the backround warps to the top of the screen (and looks fake) behind a bunch of close range eye-candy, ArmA is realsitic from close range, through medium range, to long range. The 400 sqaure kilometer island is impressive graphically, and it's worth trying the demo.
