Hi, I'm helping a friend pick out parts. I suggested this:

Could you please comment or possibly refine this build? Is dual-channel RAM a good option with this motherboard/cpu? Is 4GB enough for high-end gaming?

Thanks in advance!

850W seems overkill.

Maybe a phenom II x4 with a better GPU would be a better balance?

He may go SLI with the 460's. As for PSU we may go for the one selected or a Corsair model @ 750W.

if going sli/cf then go with a 6850 or if he can afford it the 6870, if just going single cards then get the 460 1gig

I agree with this. 850W is way more than you need. And buying a new rig with an i5 paired with a 460 seems odd.

what i would recommend is some dirt cheap p67 sli capable mobo,i5 2500k, gtx560 ti and a reliable 750w PSU the rest is up to you. why I said sli capable is cause you want that 560 slid as soon as possible.
