Let me start buy saying that I play games on PC now but have a long history of console gaming. back in the day when the 7600GT owned. PC gamers had many exclusives to be proud of. Games like Half Life, Battlefield, and any MMO or RTS plus much more than I can name. Then things began to get consolinized and PC gamers lost and are losing many more of their exclusives. For example Battlefield, Half Life, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Unreal Tornament, Crysis amd they even made an xbox verson of counterstike! Though it sucked. There is no doubt that consoles have taken over or atleat caught up to the FPS gener which use to be supperior on PC, though there are some exceptions. I still think PC dominates RTS and MMO but as for FPS and RPG i think there are little to no PC exclusives anymore in the RPG and FPS genre. Action, adventure and sports have always been best on console in my opinon. I would much mather play madden on my couch with a controller against my buddy while having a beer then play it alone5ft away from my monitor using a mouseand keyboard. I also dont think to mention that games like skate would never work on PC. Now you may say use a controller then, but I say if your going as far asusing controllers to play your PC games thenjust buy a console! My point is that if you dont play MMOor RTSis there an Awsome reason to be a PC gamer now. Are there anymore exclusives that make it woth being a PC gamer anymore?

The Witcher is a PC Exclusive. Dragon Age is not, but was definitely developed with PC first in mind. I think Gothic 4 is going to be exclusive as well, and The Witcher 2 as well as Dragon Age 2 have been announced. Besides, even if they're not exclusive, the performance and ability to customize by modding on a PC adds to both the fun and content of RPGs. :)

My view is that even if the consoles are getting these FPS games, they are still far superior on PC. Hence I'm not bothered unless they are made for console first then ported to the PC, then I put my angry face on >:-(

being a console gamer all my life (well, since i was 2 or 3), i was heavily into fps's from the start. i played console games, mostly FPSs, until early 2007 when i bought my first pc. and let me tell you this, even being completely new to PC FPSs, i loved the controls already. same thing with my friend. with many of my friends. and beyond controls, PC games look better 9/10 of the time if you have a sufficient system. games are moddable. cool game addons and plugins (l4d2 custom campaigns, garry's mod, amazing oblivion material etc.) communities are bigger and better. dedicated servers. steam and all the free crap with steam (free weekends, alien swarm, TF2 UPDATES DAILY LOLOMG, free l4d2 campaign.). free crap with other games (lol bc2 maps :D). better exclusives (crysis, starcraft 2, WoW up until 2008. STALKER series. Battlefield 2, 2142. ) and not to forget, games are just better. Doom 3 was twice as long. Oblivion had extra material. Gears of War had extra levels. Quake 4 was more stable. and in the long run, being a pc gamer can come out to be cheaper than being a console player, that is IF you buy all these extra peripherals, motion sensing things, the HD dvd player (lol), and the upgrades to the xbox 360 HDD, upgrade the xbox 360 in general (if you went from premium/core to elite or one of those 3 to the new slim), having to pay for a lot of DLC that is free on the PC. 50 bucks a year for xbox live (which isnt bad, tho.). games are usually 10-20 bucks more expensive. minus MW2 LOL. hell, games are on sale all the time on steam. its just a better way to play games. even if you hate the keyboard and mouse combo, get an xbox 360 or ps3 controller for windows. and dont even begin with the faulty hardware bs about computers. im on my 3rd 360.

I really like being able to go back to a PC multiplayer game from years ago and still have a community to play with. And to add to the lineup of exclusives, I'll say that the Stalker games are some of the best I've ever played.

PCs are more open as platforms than consoles. Mods and indie games flourish (look at Alien Swarm, and the many Valve games that started out as mods), and games are easier to develop for a PC. You could look at things from a performance vs. performance perspective, too, and say that many games on the PC look better and run at higher frame rates (no lock).

Honestly, for me it is a combination of the online communities and modding capabilities and performance + visuals that keep me coming back for more on my PC. True, there are nigh to zero PC exclusives under certain genres, and I do admit to admiring MvC3 and all of the Final Fantasy games--but I can live without them. It's really about what you want. For most people it'll be the console exclusives that will draw them into console gaming rather than PC gaming, but console gaming is fast; people are constantly jumping from one game to another. I find it exciting, but I like to stay with my games for longer.

Dude I agree with you. I really do. I just wish that there were more of those games on PC that made the PC stand out more. I mean, when I was a console gamer and saw the review for battlefield 2 on PC I said to myself what do i have to do to get that game. Now that I built my own Mid range PC for gaming I feel that Ive been strpped from those exclusives. Now the battlefield ison Xboxand just as good as the one on PC, as a matter of fact reviews say the console version looks better. Thatsjsut one example. You did make good pointsthat are true but those games that you listed are from back in the day when the 7600GT was awsome lol not really but you get my point. NOWADAYS PCdoesnt seem to havethat exclusivenss anymore.

battlefield 2 is nothing like battlefield 2 modern combat. and bc2 might look better on consoles due to the fact that it requires a pretty decent system to max it out with and not a lot of people can. it might look better to some people on consoles, but it most likely doesnt play better. if i had a nickel for each time someone said 'this game is so much better on pc' on the ingame chat.......

There are tons of awesome pc only games.

- Starcraft2 (best game this gen maybe)

- Dawn of Discovery (One of my fav strategy games ever

- The Witcher (Best rpg this gen )

- Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead (fantastic shooters)

- ARMA2 (Best realistic army game around)

- Total War series (sorry but you just cant get this on consoles)

- Stalker series (Great atmospheric FPS)

- Best version of Dragon Age and ME2

- TF2 (console versions suck on this game and no updates)

- MMO's if you like them, you have TONS to pick from

- TONS of old school masterpeices to play

- Upcoming games like Diablo3 and The Old Republic

PC does FPS, MMO's, singleplayer RPGs, RTS and City building strategy games best imo

Console does Platformers, Racing and Fighting games best imo

TPS are about even Id say. Each have there own good exclusives to.

PC gaming is my favorite personally, even though I do own a ps3 and 360, along with tons of older consoles, but PC gaming is just more fit to me. Have fun on both but PC just gets a bit more of my time personally.

I do it mainly because I'm a bit of a PC hardware enthusiast, and there really isn't a point to buying a separate machine for gaming when you can do it on your computer. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't mind having to play video games on consoles only. Most of the games I play are available on consoles, and I can bear living without the ones that aren't.

Exclusives don't mean everyone. I would never trade my PC for a console. I will never every be labeled as a consolite.

It's not like the big consoles have a lot of exclusives either these days. More and more developers go for as many platforms as they can, to maximize their sales.

There are many games that are PC exclusive, you just have to expand your tastes and try something else. Flight sims are PC only (think MS Flight Simulator and the iL2 series), naval RTS games like the Silent Hunter series (though stay away from SHV) and then there is the likes of Steel Beasts Pro. Racing games like Papyrus's NASCAR Racing Series (though not made any more) is also a PC exclusive.

While not a PC exclusive, a game like Ghost Recon still has mods being made to this day (there are over 900 available right now) and one could play for years with all the mods being released.

I do know of one game that is starting out as PC exclusive though it may end up on the PS3. There may be something released later this year on this game, but I can't be sure.

Yeah most games are multiplat but each and every one of the them is marginally superior than the console versions, even those with draconian DRM. And that's not even covering mods. There's no need for "exclusives" when even multiplats play completely different than console versions, (Dragon Age 9.5 PC version >>> Dragon Age 8.5 Console).

And I wouldn't even DARE playing a FPS on a console with a gamepad, it feels like playing with a trackpad on a laptop after you've played with a mouse, a Razer Lachesis with 5600dpi to be exact and playing any game at 60FPS on a 1080p native resolution, you know the way it's meant to be played, no pun intended and I'm not even using an Nvidia card haha. If you're buying consoles to play FPSs then you're doing it wrong, they may be on consoles now(and with less features) but they will never be "exclusive" to consoles until the start using a KB/M setup, which they, again, never will. That and dedicated servers on all multiplayer titles, versus "matchmaking" on consoles, with custom maps and all that jazz. And then there's Steam.

RPG's are far more superior on PC's. You can increase you play time by hours using simple mods, plus increase the graphics and the interface. You are very limited on a console.

I was trying to find a way to say exactly what nintendog66 said but he said it much better than me. When you think about it what seperates the consoles ? whether you play on console A or console B you are still going to get pretty much the same experience. That is why certain console companies pour millions into securing exclusives (or buying developers) it is the only way they can differentiate their machine from their competitors. The PC does not need to "differentiate" itself from the consoles, the platform brings a unique way of playing games that no console can offer.

If you are looking for exclusives then you really should stay away from the PC, there is no big time backer willing to throw millions at a developer just to ensure a game is exclusive to the PC platform even the console giants are finding it difficult to secure "exclusive games" now and have moved on to pathetic "exclusive DLC". However the PC does have one "exclusive" thing going for it, you can only play games in the unique PC way by owning a PC :D

Gametrailers misreported this as well. All they said, and I quote, "The PC visuals lag behind its console counterparts" and made no mention of the additional PC features included and just made it out like the PC version was identical except it had worse graphics. Lulzy bias at its best.

Most of my favorite games are on the PC. Whether it be mutliplatform games that are better on the PC, or indie games that'll never see the light of day on consoles.
