Are the new processors even that great of an upgrade from the current duo core and quad core ones...I heard the new INtel quad barely has an improvement

the majority of the tests I saw at anandtech.. the Phenom 9500 lost to the q6600 most of the time, some test were close, but I expected more from them

AMD's Phenomonenons aren't a siginifican't improvement from the intel quads. Their $10 cheaper... but I would probably get an intel quad instead if I were making a new rig.
