Hi, I want to buy a new GPU which is the HD 4830 but my CPU is p4 3.08 which can bottleneck the GPU... My RAM is 4GB .My mobo supports CPU's up to core 2 Quad and has 2 x pci e 16x slots. I need a cheap CPU that wont bottleneck the GPU, probably core 2 duo something like under 100$. THANKS.

e5200 for sub $100 is great, especially since it easily overclocks to 3.5 ghz with an aftermarket cooler... Does your motherboard support 45 nm cpus?

The limited L2 cache on a E5*** will hurt performance though. If you can squeeze out an extra $40/£30 for a E7400 it will make a big difference and last longer.

A 4830 is a good card though. I'm going to get it, it can play any game maxed out (some without AA/AF though).

Prices have really shot up on Newegg in the past week or so. If you do plan on getting the E5200, it can be found for under $80 if you wait a little. The difference in cache in the E5200 and the E7000s really doesn't make much of a difference in gaming, I'd say just go for the E5200 if you're on a budget. You'll still get amazing overclocking performance out of it.
