right now i run the crysis demo on this :

intel core e6300 1.86ghz
2 gig DDR2
250 gb hard drive
geforce 7300LE
300 wat PSU

i run the game on ABSOLUTE MINIMUM, resolution is lowest and every detail lowest. and the game runs bareable there not alot of lag but there is not a little lag. its in between. so im thinking of upgrading my video card to a HD 3650 512mb since i have VERY LOW BUDGET and i can get it from a friend. i heard from someone people can run this game with the 3650 at about medium and at a resolution of 1024x768 or maybe one higher. so is this possible im not looking to max it im just looking to play pretty good with little to no lagg. if anyone can help or has the card please respond as i know very little about this stuff. thanks

I'd say the 3650 could do all medium settings at 1024x768 and could average about 25+ fps.

The HD4650/70 can also run on any PSU and are twice as fast as the HD3650.

NO WAIT!!!! its the ATI HD4670 you want not the 4650.

The 4670 will get you all medium @1024*768 around 20fps(on intense action)-40 fps(on low action). It costs like $75, but way better than the 4650.

every where i check for your video card it says that it requires a minimum 400-450 watt PSU and its double the price then mine.

Here are some general benchmarks you can also search that site for individual reviews:

There are a lot of people that have a HD4670 on a 300w psu, google it.

But if you think you are so sure, then you should avoid the HD3650 too because it has the same power consumption level as the HD4670.

You should look at Power Consumption benchmarks that are much more reliable than a site that says: Recommended xxxW PSU.

wow your right i just checked www.gpureview.com and the 3650 takes no more then 75 watts while the 4670 takes in around 60 watts. but this seems really shaky. im very new at thise and this is my first time upgrading and i had to convince my dad alot before i could actually buy a new video card and im really afraid of screwing up the computer. do you have any more sources that could help me out? i just dont want to mess up.

Finally! i was about to shot myself in the foot :P

Read here, there are a few reviews of the HD4670 when it launched.

The PSU has enough juice for it, the case should be big enough because the card is very small.

You should also have a pci-e x16 slot on your mobo to make it work.

To check you will need to download CPU-Z open the program and go to Mainboard tab, and tell me what it says under graphics interface.

Yes, you have the slot.

There is also the HD4650, is cheaper but slower than the HD4670 but still way faster than the HD3650. :)

"intel core e6300 1.86ghz"

I've got the same and I overclocked it to 3.3ghz. You just need a decent cooler.

but something else makes no sense if the 4670/4650 require so little power/watt then on almost every box they sell why does it say minimum 400-450 watts required?

Its called marketing ploys, they make you worry about the power consumption so you go out and buy a new one. Trust the statistics, and $50 more for a card thats leagues better then what you want to get is worth it in my books. Just beg your parents for some money or go work somewhere for a day.

i couldnt find any for around 70$ canadian the cheapest i found was 87$ canadian. which is expensive and is a 37$ difference between it and the 3650. i want to know if about 40$ is worth the difference between teh 3650 and 4650. and also if its worth the risk of running it on a 300 wat PSU. or should i just get teh 3650 and save myself 40$ and forget about all the risks? since my PSU was generic and came in a gateway desktop.

Was able to find one for 79.99 here. I'd say it is really worth the extra 30 or 10 if you can get the 70 dollars.

yea i think i can convince my parents to get it. but so far thats not the main issue im really afraid if my PSU wont be strong enough. because i googled around and found some people who could run it while some who couldnt and it resulted in damage of hardware. i know for a fact that i can run the 3650. i found this site showing the watt comsumption for each video card http://archive.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=7&t=9354&p=0 it shows the 3650 512 mb to consume 12W-42W while the 4650 to consume 10-80watts and the difference between the watts in each is pretty significant so im not sure if it will be able to run on my 300 wat PSU. 38 Watts can have a significant impact.
