I have a 1.6 Ghz intel processer....theres a game that I want to play that has a minimum requirement of 1.7 ghz. could i get away with 1.6? im completely newbishh to this....

And if not....how do i upgrade my processer? Do I just buy another one and install it?

Its a genuine intel pentium cpu....crappy little onboard processor. I think its a dual core. What does that mean? And the game (games) is the orange box. Ive always wanted to truly experience half life 2 and the episodes :)

If it's an Exxx series Pentium, you should be fine, as it's Core 2 Duo based. Typically GHz recommendations are for older CPUs like Pentium 4s and Pentium Ds unless specifically a Core 2 Duo speed is listed. You are running a dual core right? I think the 1.7 GHz requirement is for a single core processor, Orange Box does use dual cores for most of the games now (TF2 was just recently patched to do so) so you should be alright. Yeah, for that game I think it's referring to a single core Pentium 4 at 1.7GHz. Any Core or Core 2 based processor at 1.6GHz is probably faster than a 3.0GHz Pentium IV. You should be fine.
