If I were to SLI 2 8600 GT's how much power would I get? would they = 1 8800 GTX or something?

Please everyone I don't care about your personal opinions I'm interested in facts so if you post can you please show me a link to a webstie or something that way I can see the proof of your claims.

Thank you!

I don't have time to look for proof but SLIing 8600GTs is no where near an 8800GTx, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if a single 8800GT beat them.

I can say in no uncertain terms that any 8800, with the possible exception of the G80 versions of the GTS, will kick the pants off two 8600's in SLI, in any test, in any circumstance.

1. Last time i checked a $150 hd3850 gave better performance than 2x 8600gt

2. Oh please dont' give us that BS remark i already told you i missed read your question in that other thread i guess you didn't learn you just remain ignorant  As for proof just go read any benchmark the 3850 on avearge gets 2x the frames as a 8600gt and on average sli gives you around a 30-50% average increase in performance thus we have a winner

Ill try and find some benchmarks, but even the 8800GT is better than 2x8600GTs. I'd guess that the 9600GT is also better.

If you already have a single 8600GT it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick another one up. An XFX XXX with 620/1600 clocks is only $65 after rebate on newegg.

Yeah bro I don't have a 8600 GT but my buddy got one a long time ago and he has an SLI board he just wants a cheap solution for a little bit more power and I was thinking maybe SLI'ing 2 of them isnt such a bad idea its cheap.

uhhh i don't hate you nothing in that statement should make you believe i hate you i don't think theres even a single person in real life that i hate i gave you that response because you were bringing up something in the past that wasn't even that big of a deal when you erupted. As for that statement read again i said the 3850 beats 2x 8600gt not a single one which gives you your answer you asked if a $400-$500 8800gtx beats it in sli and i said hell a $150 3850 beats its which should give you your answer right there if a 3850 beats it then the 8800gtx will demolish it.. As for proof i said go read any benchmark the 3850 performs around 2x the performance of a single 8600gt and sli will only really give you around 30-50% increase if you add another one which gives you a winner right there if your want to be picky your kinda out of luck there aren't that many 8600gt sli benchmarks out there

you were being a jerk you didn't need to bring up the past event on the board and cause all these problems and agian my question was how powerful is 8600 GT SLI does it equal to as much power as a 8800 GT or something? and like before you give me nothing relevent to the question and you cause a fuss please just stop by the way all I actually finally had time to do some digging and I came up with this....

Well here's this:http://www.gamepyre.com/reviewsd.html?aid=828&p=11

Clearly the 8800GTX is better than 2x8600GTs. and since we know that the 8800GT is only slightly less powerful than the GTX (seen here), we have to conclude that the 8600GT in SLI isn't a very smart thing to do. Unless somehow you can come across a sub-$50 8600GT.

Umm actually you must of missed read because

1. your the one who brought it up first

2. I answered your question you asked does it equal a 8800gtx or something like that ?? and i said it doesn't even outperform the 3850

3. Your not serious are you ?? you asked does it perform around the 8800gtx or something ? and i answered that by saying it doesn't even outperform the 3850 not only did i answer your question of does it equal it but i also told you what it performs around please tell me where i didn't answer the question i did answer it

4. Im not starting a fuss your the one bringing up past events and accusing me of hating you

i don't have time for this if you all you want to do is skimp past my responses then whine " its irrelevent" go right ahead all ive done is answered your questions and all you play me as an idiot

Haha, that review made me laugf, check-it-out, the 7600GS outperform a GTX by 100% in 3Dmark06 2048*1536...

According to the link, 8600Gt in SLI is just a little bit faster than a 1950pro.

The one who did that test was drunk och very-very stupid.

Eh, it might be 3DMark being a little glitchy. I remember running my 6600GT one time in 3DMark05 and getting scores that matched that of a 7900. I think what happens is that some feature, like shaders or AA gets turned off accidentally by 3DMark, but the test still runs. Plus that's just one test, so you could probably ignore it.
