Hi, i just want to ask your opinion about which is the best World of Warcraft series...
This topic is locked from further discussion.
well for the start, my opinion is, Classic WoW was good, and TBC is even better, but WotLK ruins everything, and Cataclysm will just add more mess...
as you can see on gamespy review, Classing WoW have 5-star, TBC has 5-star too, but WotLK has only 4.5-star...
I don't play anymore, but I would say vanilla and WotlK are equally great; whilst TBC sucked badly. I hated the areas, and the dungeons. I also disliked how it was mostly concetrated on pvp.MochycI disagree. Personally, I think TBC was the better expansion. It introduced a ton of new things. Blood Elves and Dranei, Paladins for Horde, Shamans for Alliance, flying mounts, etc. The only thing WotLK added was the Death Knight. And made everything easy mode, though thats either good or bad depending on how you look at it. Personally, I dont' want to have to dedicate my life to a game to get anywhere in it.
TBC is where the game started to really take a turn for the worst. KHAndAnimeI don't know... I think people look at vanilla wow with nostalgia. Personally, I couldn't ever go back to vanilla wow after all of the things they added.
The new expansion will be great for the game as it'll bring back the players to the old world. However now you have the problem of TBC areas are all pretty much empty because theres no reason to go there. This is what happens when you make a level based world :\ You really need to take out the levels and let you do the content whenever you want.

Personally, I couldn't ever go back to vanilla wow after all of the things they added. All they managed to do was make Alliance and Horde 1:1 so there's nothing unique about either, and shift the majority of the content into endgame. If they added a Vanilla WoW server that relived the timeline, then maybe I'd play again. Otherwise, no thanks. TBC nor the Lich King zones were that special. Couldn't care less about either.
This is a tough question.
I prefer Wrath over vanilla and TBC because of most of the new visual features, weapons landscapes etc etc.
However, i think i prefered playing TBC at max level because it was more fun, raiding felt easier to get into, dungeons too.
I was about level 50 when TBC came out so no experience of level 60 gameplay in vanilla but i think that Vanilla felt (almost) just right.
With the constant balancing act from blizzard it's very hard to say, each patch brings it's advantages and disadvantages.
I'm really looking forward to Cataclysm i have to say, i think WoW needs it.
However, you have to also factor in that in Vanilla wow, things were new (or newer than they are now). So, that alone is going to make vanilla wow seem like it was more fun. I think a lot of people who sit there and claim that vanilla was was more fun when they are strutting around in multiple level 80's kind of miss the whole point of the game being new back then. Also not saying that applies to everyone, but just speaking in general. I had more fun with WoW in the beginning too, but I attribute that more to not having been there, done that.
I will say that in terms of the overall world and raids/instances, vanilla WoW wins hands down. The new areas and instances in TBC and WotLK, while interesting, are nowhere near as good as the old ones. In terms of features however, vanilla WoW was seriously lacking compared to what we have now.
Once Horde obtained Paladins and Alliance obtained Shamans, I knew from then WoW was changing into a different game that I may not like in the future. While TBC and WOTLK were solid expansions, the peak of WoW for me personally was during the vanilla period when it was much more hardcore dedicated and satisfying in the PvE space.
