A quick Modern Warfare 2 question

Hi folks!

So MW2 has finally been reduced to 40 bucks, and I would like to buy it. But!...

...I do not plan on getting the map packs, not for 7 bucks a pop. Is the online still viable with stock MW2 maps? Or has everyone shifted to the new ones?

...exactly how long is the singleplayer? Longer than MW1?

Maps are random, so there still will be people on normal maps. The SP is longer the MW1s I can't exactly tell you how long though.kyalmon

Unless you plan to hack do not get MW2. The vast majority of people that play the game are hacking, and it's being done in such a way that isn't being caught by valve anti cheat. These people can go on and on about how changing the textures isn't hacking, but it's still retarded. Swedish_Chef

tbh I'd problably play the singleplayer mostly, then try the MP for a couple of weeks, and likely not touch it again.

Single Player of MW2 clocks in at about 4 hrs. 5 hrs if your a a scenery tourist. Dont get sucked into this "deal" though!

MW2 multiplayer is terrible on the PC. 400+ ping every game, random map rotation, you cant even decide wha to play, tons of hackers. Zero weapon balance, etc. Tons of imbalanced crap makes me rage in MW2 multiplayer. Uninstalled it 6 months ago.

yea thanks for mentioning that; I remember trying the "Free weekend" a couple months back and was disappointed; forgot all about that.
