Could you post up those spec's in this thread as it's a litter hard to see in that pic. However did it say you only have 512mb's of RAM? You really want 1GB these days for games like BF2 at lower resolutions.

I agree. The RAM is probably why. You're probably getting long loading times and such.

Yeah, you'd do well to double the ram. Also, you're failing the recommended settings so that would have been more interesting to see as it will give you a better idea of how well it will run. More detailed system specs would be helpfull.

BF2 is a game that really likes a lot of ram, 2GB is ideal, but really the box should say 1GB as a minimum. Otherwise the game is going to have to do a lot of paging which really kills performance.

As mentioned the RAm but also make sure your drivers are up to date and make sure to keep up on system maintainence like defrag, check for spyware, clean the junk files, etc and keep background app's closed when running the game.

Maybe you are trying to run the game at settings too high...try lowering them. There also could be something bottlenecking somewhere?

If it only runs like crap in BF2, then the RAM is almost certainly the problem. If it's running like crap for less memory intensive programs, then we'll have to pursue other routes. Either way, upgrading to a gig of RAM is still a good idea if you want to game.

Do me a favour, go to 'control panel\system\hardware\device manager\IDE ATA\ADAPTI controllers\Primary IDE channel\properties\ ' and make sure the transfer mode is not set to PIO. It should be set to the fastest transfer speed. Sometimes you won't be able to change the speed manually. To make sure you reset it to the fastest level, uninstall the primary IDE channel and restart windows. it will automatically reinstall it at the fastest speed.

It could be this... dunno

I hate to break it to you man, but PC gaming in general costs, like, a lot of money. Also, not to rub it in, but you shouldn't have bought a stick of only 256mb. If you're going to upgrade you want to add in at least 512mb chunks, otherwise it's just not worth the money for the performance increase you'll get.
