Sorry to hear that, but with all the ATi cards I've owned, they have served me well.
But who knows, maybe the nVidia cards would still give you some problems, what is your system specs anyways?
I knew my card didnt work with Episode 1. I assumed the newest drivers fixed it. Yet TF2 Beta is freezing...hm... Valve constantly advertising ATI with their games, and yet they didnt get a damn driver out that would fix freezing problems on X1300/1550 cards. I'm so tiredof their crap, it seemslike all of theirvideocards and drivers never work withanything. All of the Radeon cards I have owned, even the high end of the series, 9800XT, X800 for example, have always hadbugs withgames, and I regret ever sticking with them allthis time. Its Nvidia for me from nowon, that way I can play TF2, Portal, and Episode 2without worrying about crashing. So goodbye, I'm sick of this.Myrkan
i use to b an ati fanboy but since i eve started gettin trouble with my x800xt e.g not running well with games, bad driver suppport i switched to nvdia and im never goin bak
No offense but both x1300 and x1550 are no gaming chip-sets (for example I recall the x1550 not even being supported for bioshock, which I'm guessing you have..). Besides, what makes you so sure it's a driver issue? For one, as the name suggests, TF2 Beta, is a beta version of the game (meaning they are still testing for and fixing bugs..).
Anyway, when and how does it freeze exactly? If it really are the drivers, there's not much you can do except wait for a new release and hope it fixes your problems or giving omega-drivers a shot.
yes indeed they are terrible, and yes indeed my X800 was better, but unfortunately, I dont know if its repairable at this point, besides, someone said that with the price of the repairs, I could get a video card equal or better, and I plan on just getting a decent, cheap new one that will run my games well, but seeing if I can get my current card to work well.
Myrkan, as your "video card expert" the x1300 and x1550 are terrible. Your x800 was WAY better.imrlybord7Way WAY better...
Nvidia has its problems too... My 7800GT won't run Half Life 2 ep 1 without crashing 15 minutes into the game.LuminouslightNewest drivers and patches installed?

Could it possibly be the temps? is the fan dusty?[QUOTE="Luminouslight"][QUOTE="Indestructible2"]Way WAY better...[QUOTE="imrlybord7"]Myrkan, as your "video card expert" the x1300 and x1550 are terrible. Your x800 was WAY better.Indestructible2

Could it possibly be the temps? is the fan dusty?I have had this problem for a year.... the highest the tem gets is usually arround 60C -70C, I air blowed it a week ago... and I have had this problem for a year. I tried using Rivatuner to adjust some settings but that only stopped Oblivion from crashing. Its probably just a defective card...
i've been using ATI since the 9800 pro came out. i recently swtiched to nvidia coz i am running GTX SLI for benchmarking. im selling my HD2900 1GB, so i was ati just before this recent buy. so im no fanboy of either camp.
honestly, its not ATI's fault entirely that your games lock up. sure, the drivers for the X1300 may be poor, but have u tried using older drivers? todays latest drivers are aimed more @ the HD2x00 series and X19x0 series, the more high end.
your X1300, while you feel is a gaming card, is like getting an X300 to your X800 in terms of performance comparison. its a low end beginner model, designed to run games at minimal settings, and since its such a low end card for that series (X series), ATI have probably come close to entirely scrapping driver support, concentrating more on their latest gen.
switching to nvidia would probably be a wise move for you if you wanta low-end or half decent mid-range card. but if u really want some decent performance and you're an ati fan, get the HD2900. or even an X1950 series. although lately they are going for only like $100 less than a HD2900. may as well cough up that bit extra and get some DX10 compatability. you're X1300 is only gonna disappoint man. you'd prolly get more performance from those Source games running an 8600GT from nvidia.
