sell your GTS on eBay then! Look at some benchmarks online, the 8800GT is nearly as powerful and costs a lot less!

But whatever its your money at the end of the day.

So you're saying the 8800GT would perform the same in a resolution like 1600x1200 with AA?

the GTX performs better in most games but only by a relatively small amount! Also you will save a bucket of money for that small performance drop!

Considering the fact that I'm not paying $500 for the GTX? I don't want my GTS card. I don't know how to sell things on ebay and people probably wouldn't want to buy it from a new guy who nobody trusts. It's not worth the hassle.

If you cant be bothered to use eBay then flog it to a friend or something, either way you will be getting a better deal than your original plan!

Umm... why use AA? AA was made for low resolutions over a decade ago...to mask jaggy edges, mainly for 800x600 and 640x480 resolutions. At higher resolutions all AA manages to do is make everything blurry with a huge Framerate cost.

High resolutions cancel the need for Anti-aliasing. (1600x1200 especially).

A lot of people are still playing with those lower resolutions to get better performance with Crysis and also playing on 720p TVs.

thats a TERRIBLE deal for you

craigslist the gts and you'll fetch at LEAST 150$ then spend a little more money for the 8800gts 512mb which is even better than the 8800gt

Damnit people. I am getting the GTX for pratically the same price as a 8800GT. $260 + GTS card means basically that I am selling the card for $165.

If the GTS is worth $165 then your getting the GTX for $425, not $250. Is it a used GTX or new one?

Yes but giving the GTS + $260 is good enough for me. Yeah it is brand new.

Why do you keep making threads for advice on the exact question. Either wait like I am for the new cards or sthu and get the stinkin GTX already. Idk why you hate the 320 so much. I'm perfectly happy with mine until the next gen of GTS cards come out. I know you want to play 14x9, but hey I can't play, for example, Crysis 16x10 like I want to. But 12x9 all high except pp, and shaders med. is fine by me. Guess I'm just more easily pleased.

Fair enough. But don't make a thread asking if people think it's a good deal then get angry when we say it isn't. It's your money, do whatever you want with it.

Why make this thread if you've already made up your mind? No it is not a good deal, the person you are going to "trade with is only going to keep the cash, sell the GTS and laugh his way to a PC shop where he will buy a new 8800GT and brag about his FPS.

As others have said...it sounds like you have already made up your mind. IMO its not a good deal...what i would do is get a GT and post the GTS on craigslist...then you could have the person buying the GTS pick it up from your house if you wanted to...but its your decision...i just dont think giving away a perfectly good card AND $260 is really worth it.

Wow..what's your attitude. They're helping you..the GT SSC should be equal to or a little better in performance than a stock 8800GTX and it's much, much cheaper. What's so hard about it? Besides..you can sell the GTS 320MB for more than $165.

If you don't want people's advice, why the hell did you make this thread? Waste of bandwidth....*grumbles*
