Don't you guys think its a little early? I really want (and expect) the trilogy to end with a bang, something deeper than whats been done before. It seems to me that they aren't giving themselves enough time, what do you guys think?

I think they've had it in development while they were finishing Mass Effect 2

Well firstly Holiday 2011 is just provisional I actually expect it to not release in that period. Secondly by the time the game is released it will be 2 years since the last game, which is roughly the same period of time between ME 1 and ME 2 (about 2yrs 3months). The obviously do not need to do anything with the engine since they feel confident enough to release the PS3 version of ME 2 using the "mass effect 3 enhanced" unreal engine.

I would say 2 years is about right but I can see it possibly being pushed into January/February 2012.

You know the game almost has a 2 year development cycle? right?

ME2 released in Jan 2010, a PS3 version is coming a year later (Jan 2011). That's one year. ME3 isn't coming till Holiday 2011 (Nov/Dec), which makes it almost 2 years of development. Also it's Bioware, they'll delay the game for quality purposes if they have to.

A two year plus development cycle is fine. They'll handle it well.

It's a trilogy, so I'm sure a lot of elements of Mass Effect 3 have been in the planning stages for awhile. Secondly, it's nearly the same length of time Mass Effect 2 had.

If it comes out in Q4 2011 I think that's about right. I wouldn't mind if it took 3 years to finish, as long as it's at least as good as the 1st 2 games. Scratch that, I want it now.
