Well.., in less of three weeks Halo 2 make debut on PC, but the game need Windows Vista and I want to know about of this O.S.

My PC:
Pro: Pentium Iv 2.4GHz
Ram: 1024 Mb
VC: Ge-Force 6800 XT

My questions:
1. This O.S. could run on my PC?
2. What version of Vista They recommend me?
3. The softwares of XP can run on Vista?(Ex: COREL, MS Visual Studio, Adobe, MS Office, Norton AV, Video and Audio codecs...)
4. They can tell me the pros and contras about of Vista?

PD: Sorry for my english!!

I'm running Vista Ultimate on a system very similar to yours, and it works flawlessly. Just don't use the upgrade or anything, a clean install is best for any OS. Halo 2 is DX9, but is Vista only. And you don't need a DX10 card to play Halo 2, or use Vista.

it will work

IMO, don't get Vista Ultimate unless ur doing tons of business stuff.  If your PC is for leisure, get Home Premium.

Most things now work with Vista.  If it doesn;t wait a few weeks and it will most likely get updated.

PROS: Vista is not much different, but will soon replace XP.  Also it is the only OS that supports DX10, which will be important for a gamer like me and you. The Aero feature is cool.

CONS: It a little expensive.  Its not necessery yet.

MAKE SURE TO MAKE AN XP PARTITION, JUST IN CASE SOME THINGS WONT WORK FOR VISTA (ie: Command and Conquer: The first Decade, System Shock 2)
