so i downloaded it quite some time ago but i haven't gotten around to installing it yet. before i do though, i was just wondering if there are any major bug issues or any chance of loosing files. What about drivers, do they work fine if they work with vista? my machine is brand new, and just want to make sure i wont run into any driver issues.

I put it on a new machine, and it works perfectly. I did have to first install Vista because the cd my mobo came with wouldn't work with 7 for some reason, and I couldn't download it because the driver for the ethernet port was on that cd. But after that little hiccup, 7's been working perfectly.

Yea, vista drivers work fine. If a program gives you an issue with install, run it in compatibility mode.

Not for most people, but we can't say for sure since it hasn't been tested on your exact machine..........

I had a problem running it on my crummy laptop, because it's like 3 years old now... however i haven't put it on my gaming rig yet, but apparently it's had miniml problems considering it's still in beta

i've been running windows 7 for a while now without any real problems, there will be a program here & there that has issues like if you use daemon tools, when it prompts to reboot when beginning the installation it will just cycle that endlessly and there won't be a solution to that yet, they said since it's a fairly new beta that they're not going to address that issue until microsoft is closer to finishing windows 7. past that which may or may not be relevant for you, i've had no problems with windows 7, so far it's a solid beta.

well i installed it last night, the new task bar is a bit odd and windows media player looks even odder :P. At first i had a few small problems which i have resolved now and got google chrome working on it. over all it doesn't feel too different, quite impressive for a beta though.

All though i do like that its a bit more responsive than vista and doesn't use as much ram. cant wait to see what the finished version looks like :D
