I don't feel like spending the extra money right now for an X-Fi card.

I want the second optical drive so that I can quickly burn from one CD to another. One read-drive and one write-drive will allow me to do that, right?

I know nvidia says that the minimum required PSU for the 8800gtx is 450w, but if I were you I'd get a little bit of a larger PSU. Just in case you want to overclock or add another 8800 later on.

I'll look into getting a 550W, but as for SLI, the mobo is not SLI capable so that is not an issue. I prefer to simply buy the current top-of-the-line card which often outperforms two older cards in SLI.

You sure are indecisive, eh? Multiple topics. :P

It's pretty good for a pre-built.

Haha, yeah, sorry about that.:P I just keep getting suggestions and I keep looking further into stuff on my own, so I keep ending up making changes.

I just want to make sure that I'm getting everything right when I'm spending this kind of money.

I agree with what's already been said about the sound card. That Audigy SE is junk. Either get a Xi-FI or just use the integrated audio. Integrated audio is usually fairly good these days (certainly better than a crappy sound card), and Vista doesn't really like sound cards. To be honest, it seems to me like sound cards are being phased out.

If you don't give a crap about SLI, I would strongly urge you to get an Intel based motherboard, like a 975X. They're a lot more stable than anything Nvidia produces in my experience.  I absolutely love my Intel Bad Axe 2. It's got all of the stablity and support of an Intel motherboard, with the overclocking features of enthusiast boards.

Intel Mobo + Intel Proc = rock-solid stability.

It's NOT a rig if you didnt build it yourself. its a prebuilt.
