I want to add Call of Duty World at War to my steam account but when i select the "add non Steam game" CoD does not show up and i think it is becuase it is a crappy Games for Windows Live game. So if anyone knows how to put CoD into steam that would be very helpful.

Click the "Browse" button and look for the CoD executable. That's usually what I have to do when I add a non-steam game. However, if you have to go through a GFWL service first in order to play CoD, then it probably won't work. You could get the shortcut, but it probably won't start. Shouldn't hurt to try though.

Just to clear something up, there is a difference between Games for Windows and Games for Windows LIVE. COD World at War is not a Games for Windows LIVE title, so theres no reason GFWL could be at fault. Also I've been using Steam with GFWL games for about a year and have'nt had any issues with them. Just browse for the exe after clicking and non-steam game.

World At War is a normal Games For Windows title, not a Games For Windows LIVE title.

It should therefore make no difference. "Games For Windows" is just a label slapped on the front of the box.

In any case, LIVE games wouldn't be any different either. You still run them from the game's executable file, just like with any other game.

Steam & GFWL work ok together, DoW II is GFWL & Steam Based. As for not seeing the game you want to add listed, just click browse like another poster said and find the executable. And, like a few others have pointed out: CoD4 is GFW, not GFWL [no Achievements or Live access in game]
