550W is not very good, you should buy one of 800W's.

depends on what psu it is

and its not how many watts a psu has its how many amps it has on the 12v rail.

a 700w psu with 15a on the 12V rail is crap and worthless while

an antec earthwatts 430psu has 17A on 2 12v rails

and a corsair vx550w has 41A on a single 12Vrail

A. You need to tell us what PSU you're currently using.

B. How are you getting 5.4 ghz!? Are you running some sort of wierd Pentium D? :p

Well, I'm assuming you're not overclocking...

Open up your computer case and look at your PSU, read the labels and branding and report back to us. If it doesn't have labels or branding, you should probably replace it no matter what, since that's a good sign you're going with a noname that potentially can't even put out a fraction of it's rated amps/wattage.
