What are it's advantages, specifically in games? But also in everything else the computer does. I'm asking because I don't understand why if a dual core processor's clock speed is 2.4, than why it's better than say a P4's 3.2 clock speed. Why is this? What makes the core 2 duo, and dual cores in general, more powerful?

And also, what games actually utilize dual cores? If there aren't many, what's the point of getting the core 2 duo? I'm so confused with this. Please bear with me. Thanks

I've used this analogy before, and I'm using it again. You're a general, and you have two armies you can send to the field. one of them consists of 10,000 soldiers armed with swords. The other army consists of 1,000 soldiers armed with machine guns. Which one are going going to want to fight with?

The Core 2 Duo is more efficient - it's not because it's a dual-core, it's because of the way the processor is designed. The Pentium 4 has a higher clock speed, but it can't efficently use all that speed compared to the Core 2 Duo, or even an Athlon 64 chip.
