I'm a huge FPS fan, a medium RTS gamer and recently I've tried RPG....but there's one category that i've always skip and it's adventure games (the point and click type) and I want to give it a try, so I'm wondering witch one is the best I can get.

Thanks

Look at all the LucasArts old school adventure games, they're great. Here's a few:

Monkey Island 1, 2, 3, 4
Full Throttle
Day of the Tentacle
Maniac Mansion

Another adventure game series, that's my favourite set of games ever, is the Broken Sword series by Revolution Software. These four games (one was released last year), are honestly the best games I've ever played. Look them up.

Try The Longest Journey series. The Longest Journey and Dreamfall, they have great story.

They do work, but if you're really having trouble, there's always ScummVM - an emulator designed specifically to run Scumm games (the engine that most of the old Lucasarts games used).

You should also definately try Grim Fandango (possibly the best adventure game ever), the Gabriel Knight games (Sierra forbidden>

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Beneath a Steel Sky, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Day of the Tentacle, Broken Sword 1 / 2, Flight of the Amazon Queen and the The Secret of Monkey Island. Fantastic adventure games and all of them work with ScummVM. Newer adventure games to look at are of course the Syberia series, The Longest Journey series, the new Sam and Max episodes and the Myst series.
