hey im thinking of upgrading my pc and i researched a bit and came up with the following:

Motherboard:Intel D975XBX2 Intel Core 2 Duo Ready Socket 775 ATX Motherboard (I was also considering the X48)

CPU: Interl Core 2 Quad-Core Q6600 2.4GHz 8M L2 cache (theres also the E7700 but i thought quad is better than duo)

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512mb GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Ready Video Card wDual DVI/S-Video

Memory: 4x Corsair 1gb DDR2

Hard Disk: 500gb western digital SATA drive

Im looking for a system that would last at least a couple of years without needing any major upgrades i want to play games like crysis but im not sure if this hardware is suitable for such games. If you guys have any suggestions especially in the GPU area cuz i ddnt really look well into that too much.

Get a P35, P43 or P45 motherboard, preferably with pci-express 2.0. 965 and 975 are outdated.

Q6600 is fine.

I'd rather get 2x2 GB of memory than 4x1 GB.

For the video card, if you can find the 8800gt for up to 130$, go for it. If not, consider the hd4850. It's around 30% faster than the 8800gt (68% faster in Bioshock) and costs 165$ including MIR on newegg. I think they also have a coupon code that gives you an additional 20$ rebate.

Also get a good power supply, like a Corsair 450W or 550W.
