I've been thinking about getting an HDTV for a while, and think I'm finally going to take the plunge. I'm looking around the 46'' size and will mainly be using it for gaming/laptop/watching tv. I've decided to go with the Sony 46'' KDL46S4100. I spent some time comparing the S series to the V series and didn't really see any features I thought would be worth the extra money.

At the moment cameraaddict is listing the tv for $1250 with shipping $1450. Seems like a good deal to me. What do you guys think?

Well the difference between the s and v series is s is 1080i, and v series is 1080p, it sounds like a good deal.

I got a v series 40"inch, and it cost more then the one u said u r getting.

There's other minor stuff thats different too like contrast ratio, native resolution, different black finish, etc, I forget the rest.

Yea I just got a V series 40" for $1499...it's been great and I don't regret it for a second. Samsung is the way to go in my opinion.

I would not buy anything from cameraaddict.com if these testimonials are even close to the truth: http://www.complaintsboard.com/bycompany/cameraaddictcom-a6272.html The TV is a good choice.

You should also thin about Vanns.com and Tigerdirect.com. Vanns doesn't charge shipping or taxes. Tiger usually has the cheapest prices but it charde taxes and shipping

Thanks for all the advice. I decided to go with the Tv, but now with Camera's addict. Those guys are complete scam artists, initally I did place an order with them, but they called me to say the base was not included in price quoted and would cost an extra $300. Crazy...I cancelled the order, and purchased it from Circuit City, due to a no interest deal they had on their credit card.

It's great I love it, and the S series for this one is a 1080p!

Sony is not as good as other brands. Samsung, and Panasonic rank much higher amoungst audiophiles.

To be honest, I haven't tested the speakers on the set other than to see that they work for a few seconds. I turned them off and have everything going through an A/V reciever that's the base of my surround sound system. If I didn't have a speaker system, I would have taken the integrated speakers into consideration and might not have gone with this set.
