Been looking around for a bit, and someone suggested this - what are the thoughts of those in the know?

Its not much more for a Phenom II X4 955, I would say the extra cash it well worth it.

The build in the article is good enough and i think it's a great build for just under £500... I bought a similar build last year except i went for intel i5 760 and a 5770 instead of the cheaper chip and better card.

Hmm it's an option - mind posting your specs in full so I can compare prices and stuff? I just want something that's able to run games now and in the future, and if I need to upgrade then an easy route.

i would not recommend this system first off you will find you will need to upgrade your system in the near future due to the processor. First off if your can build a computer it will save you a lot of the extra cash which you can put to your system. When your thinking of buying a new system there are a lot things you need to take into account like an investment? How long is it going to last? Is it going to be outdated? Will it perform on new games? Do i need windows 7/xp and office? Now you need a price and well that basically helps you fit into what sort of performance you want and how long do you want system to be in the "I'm cool, i got a l33t pc" That system is probably around $700 if you include pnh. Now that system will be clearly outdated and will under perform in games that will be released later this year such as BF3, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2 and others. If you are willing to spend a few hours learning how to build a pc and understanding what is really "under the hood" check out: http://pccasegear.com/ http://umart.com.au/ If you need some advice go to http://www.karma-its.com.au/store/

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) F3-10600CL9D-4GBPK

I thought I'd drop a guide that is usually kept up to date... Though I don't really have much else to contribute.
