What do you think bethesda will start working on next ? A new elder scrolls and if so which province of tamriel would you want it to be in ? I hope the gameplay dosent get any more watered down than oblivion in their upcoming games. I hope they go back to the daggerfall and morrowind styles O_o. Thoughts ?

Probably TES:V, I'm sure. Wouldn't surprise me if it's already in early production/development stages.

Beth is huge now, they're probably working on Tes 5 already. Now someone has to go over and smack some sence into them. Maybe then they'll make a game that both new and old fans can enjoy without modding it to death. Until then I'll play Morrowind with Connary's gfx mods (which are exceptional to say the least, I actually think MW + Connary's + textures + some other mods looks better than vanilla Oblivion)...

Well, I would perfectly understand if they tried to make the game closer to the older TES games, but I'd be perfectly happy if they used the same style as Oblivion. I can't really relate with you there, seeing as how Oblivion is my third favorite game of all time. :P

Wh... eh. Third? Really? *mind boggles*

So you don't want deeper gameplay then in the fifth installment?

Well, I didn't mean to say I wanted it to stay the same, just that if it remained of the same depth, I'd be okay with that (since I love Oblivion). I wouldn't mind the idea of more depth, either, though. Remember, I haven't played Morrowind or any other "real" RPG (yet), so I don't know what I'm missing out on or even if I would like what I'm supposedly missing out on as much as Oblivion.

And yes, third. Only beaten by Crysis and *bows down to the ground and waves arms up and down as angels sing glorious hymns* Riven.

A MMO? :P Hehehe.

I know many die hard skill-focused players want a MMO badly. Bethesda would need to focus to make a GROUPING skill-oriented game, but I am confident they could.

Maybe they could earn the rights for ROLEMASTER and make a MMO out of it. Or inspired themselves from it for their MMO (this PnP games is more group-oriented than their games, they may find some truth about grouping and skills systems). If it is done right, it would prolly get more than a niche market...I dunno about the critical tables, they would need the most rework IMO, but...there is definitely something to dig from there.

lol @ the last sentence.

I would not exactly call Morrowind a "true" RPG, it's certainly close, but there's too little influence over dialog in MW imo to call it a "true" RPG. Although your actions do affect the dialog to some degree iirc.

Hmm, so Crysis is second. It's good, but I don't think it's the best FPS ever.

I see you still have a lot of games to play.

Well, what I meant was that most people will call Morrowind an RPG, whereas a lot of people say Oblivion isn't really an RPG at all and that alone is a detriment to it for some reason. I honestly don't care, all I know is I had an enormous amount of fun playing it.

And yeah, Crysis is definitely my favorite FPS. The only ones I've played that come really close are Half-Life 2, No One Lives Forever, Jedi Knight 2, and Jedi Academy. Far Cry, FEAR, Half-Life, System Shock, and Dark Forces aren't too far behind, either.

I certainly do have a lot more games to play, but make no mistake, I have played a LOT of games. My PC collection is around 150 and rising right now.

You have not played SS2 yet, I assume?

Skimmed through your collection. Have to say that I find a lot of "holes" in it. Let me paraphrase my sentence. You still have a lot more games to play (that I find great). Yeah, that's better.

I've got SS2, but I haven't got it to work yet. Haven't googled around to look for remedies yet, though.

This made the game playable when I played it. No crashes, no problems.

Also, get the two gfx mods on this site. Much better looking textures.

Enjoy!

Thanks, I'll try that. Glad they have the fix for the HOTU version, too, that's what I have.

I would personally recommend you get SHTUP (some improved texture resolutions), but avoid Rebirth (higher polygon character models). The models are better looking, but they aren't as good looking, if you know what I mean. The hybrids don't look as horrific to me, and the impact they have on my senses is at least 50% of why I love the game so much. And for someone who can stomach games from '94 (and I would imagine much earlier), vanilla SS2 is plenty good enough looking anyway.

You should totally play it, by the way. Like, today. Totally today.

Yea Daggerfall was my fav elderscrolls game so i hope its more like that one :D

Also a decent storyline would be a plus to :P

I enjoyed Oblivion, but it definatly didnt ahve much of a story and not many memorable characters, like daggerfall and morrowind had.. IMO of course
