I just want to know how well it will run some of today's games. Please be honest! :)

* GTX 460 1 GB

* 6GB DDR3 Corsair (1600)

* AMD Quad Core/3.2/'Black Edition'

*Some Gigabyte Motherboard

* Corsair 650W Power Supply

* Win 7 (64-bit)

I was really excited to finally buy a computer after years, literally, of wanting to build my own... So yeah, go ahead and tear away at it.

Thanks!

It's a very nice computer. You should be very happy.:) You said that you bought it, so I'm assuming that it was pre-built. Where'd you buy it from and how much did it cost?

I believe he means he means he was able to buy all the parts at last, given that he said he wanted to build his own for years. Afterall, NO prebuilt comes with all brand name parts.

When did he say that he wanted to build his own computer? I'm going to assume that he's posted about this in the past, in other threads.

I'll admit, I didn't read that part of the OP. I just read the title and the specs.:P

EDIT:

Post some pictures of the rig, OP.

Shouldn't have got 6GB RAM, AMD currently only supports dual channel, so its kinda being wasted.

For gaming yes it is wasted but if he does heavier stuff like HD video,3D graphics rendering etc it'll come in handy.

Then the TC should have got 8GB instead of 6GB, not utilising dual-channel.

Ouch. Wish I would have researched about the RAM... Thankfully, I actually purchased the RAM online tonight - and just cancelled the order :[

Can anyone make any suggestions for 4GB DDR3 on Newegg, or any RAM for the matter? All input is much appreciated. Thanks, again!

*BTW Everything is setup and ready in my computer right now other than the hard drive, cd-drive, and RAM. I'll definately post some pics of it later... I'm so psyched to get to play with some decent graphics for once :]

G.Skill Ripjaws are a good choice as are the Corsair series of RAM. Those are the two main RAM companies I would recommend. Plus, I am a huge fan of Corsair's modular PSU's.

It looks like you have a good system there. Which Gigabyte motherboard? I'm a huge fan of their boards and except for an Asus Micro-ATX in my HTPC my WHS and gaming system run Gigabyte.

Looks like a good rig and should run todays games very well. G.Skill makes some good RAM certainly not a bad choice. The Corsair Dominator kit is a good RAM kit but a little overpriced imo. What case are you using?

Wow this sucks... Two hours after using my computer, the screen blanks on me. Everything was going fine. The monitor is acting like it's not registering anything, yet the computer is on. We had to shuffle through hardware to see what the problem was, and eventually found my power supply was the problem. So I've RMA'ed the item back, but I have a bad feeling it's going to happen to me again... I mean, the computer was working fine at first, but then it just suddenly blanked out. I couldn't even shut the computer off manually using the power button, I had to shut it off from the power supply switch. If this happens again, by the time I send it back for a new one, my warranty will expire for the rest of my parts.... Ugh, I'm so depressed. Has anyone had this problem? If so are there ways to prevent it? What if there was a surge? Or maybe the power supply really is at fault... BTW: My case is the Raidmax Smildon(sp). It lights up green.

Hmn wierd, Corsair PSUs are usualy good quality. The whole PC froze and you couldn't even turn it off via holding the power button? Wow that's rough, never had that happan to me in 10 years of using PCs. Good luck with this :)

Well manufactured items are never a guaranteed quality... Someone has to get a dud sometime... unlucky but when you get it fixed/replaced it should be fine. Nice build and great parts all seem to be in the same league so nothing looks to be bottlenecking. Nice one.
