I'm just a little curious; how come it took crysis 3 months to go platinum, while age of conan (which has similar system requirements has already sold 400,000 copies in the first two days? thanks for your opinions

Because Crysis multiplayer sucked so no one felt like buying it.
Age of Conan is good and requires you to buy it to play.
Don't deny the Crytek complaint and reasoning for going multi-platform, it's totaly true.
What is this obsession everyone seems to have with sales numbers? It's like I'm stuck in some mid level corporate sales meeting. Crysis had mediocre sales because it's a mediocre game with high system requirements.fenriz275
Platinum in a matter of several months isn't what I'd call mediocre sales, and the game has of course sold even more than that by now. The game has sold plenty well so far by PC shooter standards.
Because Age of Conan is an MMO. What's more, it's an MMO with a huge advertising campaign playing up the game's good graphics and inclusion of boobs. Those two work by themselves and together at the same time. High quality graphics and boobs means high quality boobs.JP_Russell
I almost spit out the water in my mouth when I read this
My guess is piracy, yep thats right, you can't pirate AOC can you. With crysis you could download it before it got released.
Think about it crysis was heavily downloaded, and loads of people really liked it.
Lets see what happens when Mass Effect gets released as if its the same as bioshock there should be zero first day piracy.
