I played UO and WoW for quite some time in their day, as well as a few months of Guild Wars.

I have been thinking about buying some WoW time and playing again, but it's like an alcoholic having a glass of red wine with dinner. It won't end well.

I want to know if AoC is worth my money instead. I have heard about plenty of technical issues, but how much do they detract from the game? If it is good enough that I play for about three months, or about what the game itself costs, I won't consider it a waste of money.

I'd like to hear from some longtime MMO players whether the technical issues are really horrible or not. I put up with UO at launch for almost a year, for some frame of reference.

I've played almost every major MMO out there, and I loved Conan at first. Now I find myself not really wanting to play it. I can understand why they didn't put a auto attack button in, but it really needs one. There is a reason every other game has one.

That's kind of what I figure. Maybe they will drop prices or offer deals if the game starts hurting and they need my money. I don't want to pay for it if it's super-buggy and unbalanced.

I'll say "Yay". My love for it has dwindled, but to be honest I've never been too keen on MMORPGs. I think I might switch out my subscription for World War 2 Online.

Funny, I am subscribed to both WWII Online and AoC. I can't stop playing either.

Well I just recently got a job so now I can likely afford both though I doubt I have the time. I figured I was the only WW2 online gamer on GS.

I played it for a few days...then stopped. "Herrick," you ask. "Why did you stop?". "Well mang," Herrick replied, "The combat system wasn't what I thought it would be."

Mind you, this is coming from someone who is not a fan of MMORPGs, so my opinion doesn't hold much Heineken. I may try it again one day.

I like age of Conan the combats badass a lot better then any other mmo out there. But I would wait till the price drops (thats what i'm doing :P). I don't want to spend 50 dollars then 15 dollars a month thats 65$ right there i'll wait till it drops to 20 and has a lot more content.

Game is 50 dollars right?

It cost 15 dollars a month to play. You get the first month included with that 50 dollar price tag.

50-15=35

What about that 35 dollars? I mean you wouldn't even be able to play it if it didn't at least come with the first month paid up for. So therefore you are overpaying if you buy it at that price.

Its a mistake I'll never make again.

Age of Conan was "Yay" for the first month or so, then it became "Nay" in my book. I don't know why, but it just hasn't got the same type of repetitive gameplay as WoW has.

Shame, that game had so much potential..

Well I'm lvl 43 in it and so far it's been a very fun experience but maybe you should wait a couple of months. There's still some issues that need to be fixed and the lvl 60+ range of the game gets to a grindfest (or so I've heard).

There is supposed to be a huge update coming pretty soon that adds new outdoor regions, quests and what not.

YAY, o hell YAY lol

I was hyped for this game for a couple years, played beta, early access then got collectors edition

So its fair to say im a fanboy of it :P

Bloody combat sytem, amazing classes, M rating (keeps the 12 year olds away), great graphics, fun gameplay.

It is my favorite MMO and imo the best MMO (yes, even better than the almight WoW) imo.

Nay... Leveled to 40 during release and was sick of funcom giving the shaft to CE/pre order items... I can make a huge list of what I hate about this game, one of them being attacked my invisible players/mobs (literally not just rogue classes) Also this games idea of balance sucks. Priests > all that is all....

Nay, this game wont be good til the end of the summer. Its got massive graphical, technical and other errors. Aswell as frequent server spikes which lag out the game for 15 seconds ot disconnect you alltogether. The patches are also huge aswell almost 2gb of patches since release. If you look past the technical errors you can have fun with the new innovative combat features, pvp and other things. IMO wait a few months for funcom to get there stuff together and patch the game aswell as possible.

As an honest opinion from an MMO veteran, I say Nay. Wait awhile and let the devs have a bit more time to squash a few bugs, and tweak some of the gameplay a bit. It's not a bad game by any means, but there is much work that can be done to improve it.

Personally I'd say Nay.

I bought it at launch and though the gamew as in a pretty good state at launch (for an MMO .. quite a few bugs, but playable and fun). However the game actually seem to have degenerated with most patches instead improving. I'm at the point now where I cant play the game relaiblely for more than 30 min to an hour before something causes a crash. In addition, I felt that once I got past the initial 'learning the game' period, it just didnt feel all that interesting.

My account is still open but to be honest I've pretty much stopped playing and will probably cancel my subsription soon

If grinding the same repeatable quests again and again is your picture of the game.

I quit the game in the high 20's. My class was Conqueror. The game looks nice, but its boring and nobody is friendly in it. Your better off making friends on xbox live (seriously)

The worst parts for me was the travelling bore me to death, and the gameplay mechanics of having to click each time to attack, I prefer auto attack games, with special attacks only needing to be activated. The lag made each swing just hell.
