I'm an exclusive FPS & racing fan, but I really dig this game. I hate all of that WoW and Hammer garbage. I also didn't enjoy Empire Total War or Civilization IV, that crap belongs in the trash can as far as I'm concerned... uninstalled in ten minutes.

So I don't know exactly what I'm looking for here. I really like the aspect of building my town/army up from scratch like they do with AoE. The gameplay is very entertaining, so I was wondering if anyone else knew of any games that followed this same kind of formula? If not, that's cool, just recommend something along these lines that I would consider fun.

Thanks ;D

ah well this method is quickly becoming a thing of the past as people enjoy the idea of realism in games. id suggest earth assault, command and conquer, dawn of war, red alert, and supreme commander franchise all to you. id hesitate to suggest warcraft 3 as the hero system is trash and the lack of structures and resource management in CoH and dawn of war 2 would probably turn you off to the concept of an rts with more fighting than management.

thanks, homies. You've really opened my eyes to a lot of stuff out there, as well as refreshed my memory. That Dawn of War crap seems too much like World of Warcraft, though, which I despise. I've made up my mind, and I'm going to get Company of Heroes (which looks badass), Age of Mythology, World in Conflict, and Men of War. I'm gonna' hold off on Empire Earth for now. I know it'd be pretty fun, just looks too 98ish.

Any more modern day war strategy-type games with good graphics & interaction (such as the Sudden Strike series)? How about an AoE clone? Preferably not sci-fi? thanks
