First off, I'm not a big strategy game fan. I prefer turned based over rts and was wondering if Age of Empires III is a tbs or rts? I enjoyed Civ IV and King's Bounty series. With it coming up as the next community vote sale was wondering if I should pull the trigger to buy? Appreciate any advice in advance.
It is RTS. It has been some time since I've played it, but I'm still holding out hope for AoE IV. I've been a fan of the series forever and it just doesn't get any better.
It has aged very well imo, I am just glad its getting some more attention again :)
Even if you dont want the pvp stuff you can do coop with a friend vs the ai and its a ton of fun.

Crossing fingers that Robot Entertainment (company formed by former Ensemble guys) will make a spiritual successor of some kind, or that they or GPG will get tagged by Microsoft to make a full-blown sequel after they're done with AOEO.
It's very much RTS. If you play on line you're probably going to run into rushers like you would any other RTS. Which is a shame considering the game's devotion to base building and resource gathering.
