AGP Video Card

My mother has an older HP computer that she is wanting to play some games from big fish on, her computer lags when going from one level to the next to the point the graphics wont load,, I am not sure about it but I think the onboard video is not good enough, the computer has a intel celeron 2.93GHz process or and a msi motherboard with 512mb of ram,

Can someone please help me and recomend a good agp video card for under $50 that would work for her.. or if you have other suggestion as to why her computer lags so much even though it triples the system requirments for the games she plays...Thank you

well im assuming you live in the US (because u failed to state so). this may be because a celeron is a true dual core (not a good one but a dual core) and probably is just a result of being incapable of coping on the system as well as it should. (proof that you can in fact over do it on a pc) this would be why my C2D wont let me play mechwarrior 4 and MoH: allied assualt.

yeah its proably b/c its a dual core cpu and meybe u lack certain gpu features such as cell sahding or direct draw.

what is cell shading and direct draw, can you please recommend a good gpudrkstorm37

i did above. that i recommended there is currently the best you can get for under $50 with shipping + handling.

basically what direct draw and cell shaidng are are texture filters the organzie things and prepare them for lightning fast use but rather than sending them to your pc's 512mb of ram it will send it to the memory on the gpu itself. thus organizing itself faster. lag 99% of the time is caused by your pc's inability to cope with a disorganized mess so it hits the pause button prepares the next few second and "unlags" so to speak.
