However, it looks like NCSoft is going one step further to prove worthy within the MMO space. It's simply marvelous, it's freaking marvelous! Certainly keen to upgrade next year.

Keep watching, lol... Well I watched that entire video. Aion is easily hands down the most graphically impressive MMO. However, I didn't really come away with any info other than it looks like they are adding player housing and player built towns.[QUOTE="zomglolcats"]Pretty visuals don't make an outstanding MMOOoSuperMarioO

Though I'm aware some users don't admire MMORPG's on this board, it is however looking to really improve upon a current build of the game that has establish great responses among the community. You can even say the game is a bit underrated, due to it's background from Korean development.[QUOTE="zomglolcats"]Pretty visuals don't make an outstanding MMOzomglolcats
It looks bleak currently to sustain a large audience from the WoW space, but I have to say at this point that Aion(Including the new upcoming updates) looks much more interesting than World of Warcraft for me personally, granted I have played WoW for quite some time.
how can you say "it should have been" when the winner hasn't been announced yet?
anywho, i canceled my subscription before my free month ran out....game was such a bore
Recently released games like Assassins Creed 2 are some how managing to be nominated for GOTY(are people even playing these games anymore instead of a couple of hours into play?). Aion wouldn't stand a chance to steal an award from a game like Modern Warfare 2, where Activision has too much money and power to make the mainstream eat out of their hands to get what they want.how can you say "it should have been" when the winner hasn't been announced yet?

This. Aion was great. (i say was cause i'm currently too broke/busy to pay the monthly fee) Looks like I might have to actually go out and get a time card before this expansion hits, maybe get back into it.[QUOTE="lazzordude"]

It's just another MMORPG hiding behind the so call "new features". In the end, it's all about leveling to death just to compete with others. Lame...
Yeah when I tried Aion, it didn't really have anything new to bring to the table. Yes i'm aware of the flying, but it takes more than adding flying to make a new and interesting MMO.It's just another MMORPG hiding behind the so call "new features". In the end, it's all about leveling to death just to compete with others. Lame...

I apologize for my ignorance but....this is an expansion correct? Seems pretty soon with the NA release being new. And btw...anyone judging the game by that trailer, that is a WRONG thing to do. I've done my fair share of MMO's and Aion in it's current state is almost lackluster in every way I see possible. Little to no end-game, the PvP is broken, leveling is more boring than any other MMO I have played.
I am tired of WoW as well, I've canceled my sub for months, and Aion was NOT the solution.... just for a little insight though, I have recently bought Age of Conan to fulfill some of my MMO taste. After getting a character in Aion to 40, and now multiple toons in the 30's/40's in AoC, AoC is a MUCH MUCH better game mmo-wise. I will argue that the AoC universe even looks way better than Aion, *only* thing holding AoC back imo is the player base...apparantly that rough launch they had just slaughtered them.
Aion had a lot more grinding then WoW. I was so bored having to constaintly use kiting on my enemys as a ranger.
Dragon Age should win IMO. I dont have ps3 but people say uncharted 2 was pretty good as well. Some how i have a feeling MW 2 might take it......OH god i hope not.
And Aion brings absolutely nothing new to the MMO genre. It has better graphics than most mmo's out there but better graphics won't make it a better experience.
I regret buying aion, i almost want to say that world of warcraft got better graphics? Why?
Since Aion is so very empty, like plastic paper.
Aion = Free asian mmo you need to pay for. It was a bigger letdown than AoC.

Which already exist in half the MMO's out there. The fact that WoW hasn't incorporated it is a testament to Blizzard's lazyness :P

UC2 is 5 hours of fun, then you never want to play it again. This goes for both the single player and multiplayer. I liked it alot, and although I don't find DA:O too fun, I can see why others would, and it is easily the better game.
Also, I agree with your statement on Aion. Developers need to do something new and innovative if they don't want their entire playerbase to return to WoW.
lol... Kozzy has been resurrected. Now we can work together to bring order in the Galaxy! Its a very fun MMO, but imo Dragon Age is hands down the game of the year, by a long shot.
With that being said, that video looks awesome! The differnece is pretty intense! Thanks for posting it Mario! You always have the best threads on here!

Clearly you didn't play it for more than an hour. Aion is a good game if you dont start it up going "this game is going to suck" and not give it a chance.[QUOTE="yobaby2009"][QUOTE="psn8214"]

my only point of view is that ,aion is not the best game of the year till date.

Idk why its considered a JOKE but I really enjoy Aion. Sure, it has its sharp end, but atleast i didn't get to 50 in one month.... whats the point of that? If i wanted easy mode i would go back to playing Super Mario Bros 3 with a million Leaves and 20 Stars. seriously.
As much as I like Aion, I would prefer their subscribers go to some of the more established and deservingMMOs, specifically LOTRO, Age of Conan, and EVE.
With that said, the trailer looks great and Aion is a good game. I hope it continues to grow and stays strong for years to come

yeaaaaaaaa who forgot they were trying to make an ass of someone? wooo did, wooo did!
And yet GS is still has no review up. Late.... as usual.Gamerz1569MMOs take longer to review than a SP Campaign game... I prefer them to take their time so they can play plenty of AION before producing a report.
ill let you know after they put out a 2 week free trial or something.
if they dont oh well.
im looking forward to a few different mmo's anyway.

these are the ones im interested in..
but if aion has a trial, ill gladly try it, but its not one im real hyped about.

I'm also going to agree with the sentiment that GS isn't in the wrong here for not having an Aion review up but for a different reason. Because it seems they've been stepping up their pc reviews as a whole. As I see reviews for two heavy pc eccentric titles like Shattered Horizon and Machinarium on their pc page. Along with the much underlooked console port of Ninja Blade. And then there was Force Unleashed - the pc version was the only that got a review for its new edition.
wow.. that trailer was epic.. is the combat exactly like in the trailer cause if it is..ill buy it :D
I am not an Aion player. Yet. This video blew me away. Graphics aside, player housing, player built towns, possible player generated quests, tameble and trainable mounts, a whole underwater world with cities and hubs, the weather oh the weather...and what looks like a melee monk class maybe Diablo 3 inspired?=p
The trailer looks pretty, but when it comes down to it, it's still an empty, soulless MMO. You feel like a nobody running around a fake world, and that's just not what a good RPG is.F1_2004I didn't play enough AION yet to say that's it's soulless so I don't know. Running around a fake world? aren't all MMO Worlds fake? as in virtual? lol... But anyway, to the point in your post....the only ONLY MMO I believe that has a living breathing world is LOTRO...
