What do you guys think of this game so far?

I love it!! :D Campaigns are epicly long, got through like 5 missions in the mission string and that took about 2 hours. Got sick of my group and eventually quit.

The missions get pretty hard as you progress, you'd realy need a group of friends fully cooperating to beat the tougher ones.

I love it, I would've paid money for this game.

I already played through the campaign It's not really long but just like L4d it has great replay and needed to be played with others.

Plus you get a TF2 hat unlock with this game as well.8)

Anyone up for a Gamespot run my STEAM is Krayzie3334.

I still have over an hour of downloading to do. I had to change my region from Washington DC to Cambodia to get it to download at all. Can't wait to play it though.

the game is AMAZING! It's like 1000 times better than l4d, plus you can lvl up! Can't believe this is free... valve forever!

I want it but the Steam servers are all overloaded.

They're long? This makes me really really happy. I played through the introduction bit with two friends, and we're waiting for our fourth who'll be the heavy tonight so it'll be nice and fresh. So far, awesome awesome game for such a simple concept.

VERY fun game! Easily the best top-down shooter I've ever played, and also one of the best co-op games I've played.

Just completed Jacob's Rest on Normal. Longest mission was easily the last, just because we died so many times, haha.Tip: freeze grenades help a lot with the egg pile, and in the last stretch of the mission.

You get it from completing 2 co-op missions if I remember right.

someone help me! i start up the game and at the loading screen it crashes and says engine error: missing models/gibs/hgib and error.mdl

i verifyed gcf and defraged please help me cuz i want to play this game

The game is great! However, liked Left 4 Dead, the game isn't all that fun unless you are playing with people who talk.

I had a few good laughs while playing it having various wipes finnally gave up on 3rd to last mission when the other player who was keeping the team a float left.

I love it. I luckily got a good group of people when I searched a public match and it was blast playing through the campaign with them. Took us about 2 and a half hours on Normal. Promotes teamwork especially on higher difficulties where you can't survive if everyone runs off by themself. Love the unlocks and items.

I would seriously have paid money for this game, it is that good. Can't wait to see what comes out of it with mods.

It's not really my type of game but I think it's great that Valve let me have it for free. Nice gesture.

How do you get the hat?

I haven't played it yet, but I am downloading it now, and it should only be another 10 or so minutes before it is finished.

This is great, along with L4d2 and Cod4, this is another game that me and my GF can play together, Online and/or LAN. (and its free)

I also have Dystopia, which I may get her to try one day soon.

Anyways I'm excited about this, and will post back in a day or so after We have played around with it some.

Couple observations I learned.

• Aim... You Will run out of bullets on hard or insane mode and you better reload once all bullets or out of a clip (you lose bullets when manually reloading early)
• Work as a dang team. Enemies come out the woodworks and nothing better then surrounded and friends running off
• Better communicate and setup secondary weapons appropriately such as the stationary machine gun.
• Game seems simple but has alot of dynamics to it when playing on hard or insane. Group member needs to have a welding tool lol
• So much to it.

From a guy who has Alien Shooter, Alien Shootr 2, zombie shooter, alien breed, impact all I can say is WOW. This is a very nice update from the mod version I played using the Unreal 2004 engine and since its 100% free I get to play with just about any friend I have on steam. Nice Valve Nice.

How do you get the hat?

Complete 2 two Co-op Missions online in Alien Swarm.

After you do that you have to die in TF2 ingame and it'll add the hat. I didn't take a screen shot at the close up item drop screen so this tiny shot will have to do.:P

Iv been playing it all night with some friends and we were all impressed with it. Im looking forward to seeing what people make with the SDK.

I've been trying to download it for hours but the servers are overloaded :(

Just beat the official game :D Hope they will update it with some more campaigns soon!

I'd give you an honest opinion, but that will have to wait until I get a gaming worthy computer. Left 4 Dead on the lowest settings performed better than this is on the lowest settings, and L4D gave me an average 15 FPS.

Well this won't be an issue for most pc gamers because any serious pc gamer will not play on integrated video :D Just doesn't cut it these days.

Give me some credit here. This was the best I could afford at the time when I bought it on pay from a part time summer job. I had priorities at the time. Now I have other priorities and getting a new laptop is low when this one still does most of what I need it to. I'm just kind of surprised that while I can't even get above 12 FPS on lows in this, I can get roughly 20 FPS in CS:S on mediums.mercuryblade09

hp laptops suck. I'd know, I have one :/

Dont get an HP. They have the highest failure rate out of all manufacturers. It was somewhere around 26% or so. I had to repair 3 of my friends HP laptops. The first ones mobo burnt, the seconds fan failed, the thirds GPU died. i got each working for around a week, but they all died again eventually.

actually he is right. Asus has the lowest failure rate of all companies and they are the best in terms of price. Asus is godly for laptops.

actually he is right. Asus has the lowest failure rate of all companies and they are the best in terms of price. Asus is godly for laptops.

For a Laptop, I cannot recommend a better brand than Asus. They make great components.

Just make sure whatever you get has a decent GPU in it, if you want to play game.

Definitely go with Asus. Great reliability and a laptop that costs $900 from Asus would cost you $1200+ from Sony, Toshibia, HP, ect. And if you want a decent graphics card those other brands charge you a fortune. Best bang for the buck from any manufacturer.

My dad got an Asus on Black Friday a year or two back. He got it on sale for $850 (normally like 950-1000) and anything comparable from other brands ran over $1400.

My brother has a HP and it is junk.

Played Alien Swarm for like 7 hours last night. So good. Excited for modders to start pumping out their own maps (and maybe Valve will even toss us a few new unlocks? :D).
