Not exactly downloading at optimum speed, so I've been sleeping at my desk waiting for it to finish.. yeah I'm really bored/tired :)
Wish they would have given us a singleplayer demo instead ):
More interested in the singleplayer for this game to be honest.
Played two games of the online demo and its a big clunky imo, not that impressed.
But I think ill still buy this game for the singleplayer as it looks very good int eh videos ive seen.
I'm not impressed. I would have rather had a singleplayer demo because that's all I really cared about. They could have at least given an interesting multiplayer mode. Deathmatch is just crap. Swiftstrike5
I agree 100%. Im very excited for the singleplayer, but this online demo isnt very good at all. Besides the atmosphere nothing else really was that good imo.
They really shoulda done a singleplayer demo
Just had a couple of matches as an Alien, which is my favourite in the classic game.
It was awesome. You can feel the weight of the creature, the animations are great, and the various combos are awesome. They nailed the atmosphere and feeling.
Don't know what you people expected, this really feels like a natural evolution of the old game. Pick up AvP Classic on Steam to get the hang of it, or practice more in the demo.
And I'm glad good old deathmatch gets some recognition! The full game must be great with dedis and Steam support.
Also, the menu is freakin' weird.

Ive played the old AvP games tons, I just dont find this online demo fun at all.
looking forward to trying the campaign and some differnt online modes though, but as a old school AvP player, this demo is a bit dissapointing.
Well it is not bad by any means, I think most of us are looking towards single player more.Just had a couple of matches as an Alien, which is my favourite in the classic game.

Just saw my bro playing it and I will NOT be downloading it, it looks so unintresting it's amazing, the marines look clunky as hell to control and multiplayer looks like a borefest. My brother went on to say that the game felt really old, the gun sounds where dated, and the graphics are subpar
Ill pass. Nothankyou.jpg

Game is marvelous. The learning curve is relatively low, making it speedy for me to adapt and hammer a server. There are issues in terms of gameplay, which is the auto kills with one key stroke, this makes for comical moments of people clumping together to spam the key for the quick kill(This may be not be apparent for experienced play overtime). Demo also suffers from lag connectivity depending on the host. One more issue I've encounter - though I made a solution- was the crashing to desktop, this is an X-Fi issue so I set the sample rate in speaker properties to 24bit, 44100 Hz. Nonetheless, an approved seal for a buy this year.
I had to switch the sampling quality setting as well, and I have Realtek onboard audio.. anyway, demo kinda sucks. Dunno why they'd release that, actually. You can do the E key kill without even being close to the guy, so.. well.. I felt pretty cheap playing as an alien.

So am I :D

Don't know about the Marine, but the Alien controls like a charm. The sounds are straight from the movies. The graphics: hell no. It looks really damn sweet, and the demo only supports DX9. I don't think he should pass judgement so quickly on a game with 7 MP modes and three campaigns with wildly different characters.

I thought that's part of the fun - the temptation to pull off a badass kill vs the danger of being caught doing it. Once players adapt I'm expecting these kills to be rare, a truly rewarding moment. It's just too dangerous to spam quick kills, and there's a block combo too.
The kill where the Alien's impales the Marine and the tail comes out of the its mouth is priceless!
Gotta love the steam forums, filled with people that don't understand the full game will have dedicated servers or complain about missing controls that are actually there. In fact, I love the new Alien controls, it's much easier to sprint now, the wall walking is improved and the leap is still there.
People complaining about E should remember that 1. there's a counter to it and 2. in the case of the Alien, it takes over leap when it's necessary - and so does jumping when you're dashing towards a target.
Bloody hell, it's 5 AM:lol:

The other 2% I don't think know what day it is lol.
The Aliens and Predators are fun to control but the marines are soooo clunky control wise. I can get alot of kills with them, but its just very clunky controlling and annoying. Getting kills with the marines just the controls are a bother.
Good atmosphere and graphics
Bad controls as marine and bad matchmaking.
My thoughts so far personally as a huge fan of the AvP games.
Cant wait to try the singleplayer campaign though, this average demo of the online wont stop me from buying it.
What a waste of time downloading , controls feel chunky, marines the most noticable. feels like a console game just like BFBC2, matchmaking MP takes forever to start. I hope to god that they ethier fix the MP or have a great SP.04dcarraherWell the full game will have dedicated servers.
[QUOTE="millerlight89"]Add me on steam millerlight1989 if you wanna play :).kevy619what other games you play? I want to frag eminen! You can't frag Eminem. Anyways, I play L4D2, CoDMW2. Many other. Right now I am enjoying BFBC 2 Beta.

I think I have the same problem as you. I can purchase and download full games, but I cannot click on links to download demos. I have tried so hard to figure out why this is but no luck...

Controls were strange indeed, it's a matter of getting used to them. But it did seem easier on a X360.
I've now been playing it off and on since yesterday and It went from a day 1 purchase to me, to waiting on reviews. Couple of problems that I disliked were,
1. More options for alien walkwalk. I feel like I don't have complete control of wallwalking in this one. In AvP2 I just held shift when I wanted to attach to a wall and let go when I wanted to drop down for a kill. More than half the time I successfully sneak up on a person and then I can't detatch from the wall quick enough and by the time I finally get off I've been noticed and get shot. (this was my biggest problem as Alien is my favorite ****to play since the original game)
2. I would really like the option to either enable/disable the predator jumping. I think it is pretty cool how they added the current jumping ability, but I find it to just not be accurate enough. I would like the option to do all the jumping myself.
3. Mouse sensitivity was another issue for me. I turned it all the way up and it is just not quick enough for my play**** I think this is the first time I have ever complained about such a thing in a video game.
4. I want crouch back. It may not be a big deal, but you have no idea how many times I pushed my control key to try and hide behind some boxes. It just felt so wrong to not have it.
5. Auto-Aiming - This crap should not even be anywhere near the PC version of the game. If the reviews state that multiplayer servers cannot toggle it off/on then I definately will not purchase this game.
at first I thought the demo really sucked and was afraid if I did the right thing ( pre ordering the game without playing the demo)
the matchmaking in the demo sucked I couldn't find games.
the play style was a bit strange.......
but after the patch and a few matches. I'm really starting to like the game.
The marines/aliens/predators seem quite balanced ( I didn't expect the marine to be able to survive lol )
the weapons of the predator are fun.
but I really love the alien ( quickly rushing through the map attacking evry thing I can see :) and when the fight back make a quick retried and try to attack them in the back. )
got a kill streak of 10 with one of those little critters :D
had a great melee fight with a pred both attacking and blocking eachothers hits really great stuf :)
I'm really looking forward to the single player of the game and to the dedicated servers instead of this matchmaking.
I do hope a few bugs will be gone ( you can hit someone when they should be out of reach and stuff like that .)
but if they get those little things out of it I really believe it will be a great game .
(but I don't understand why they made a death match demo....... it's not death match that will make this game shine .
If the learning curve were high you would still fare the same since everyone is new to the game.I should of went more narrow into detail. AvP is a moderate FPS(imo) compared to games like CS, BF2 ect.(Doesn't take anything away from AvP, it's still a fun game). For personally me, I was able to jump in and learn almost all the mechanics to do what I was doing on the servers in a short amount of time. Generally your point holds true, but I personally consider the mechanics easy in AvP.[QUOTE="OoSuperMarioO"]
