Do you think that I should buy an Alienware 9700? I can get a pretty good deal at around $400, and I have about $200 more to spend un upgrades. Is thereany otherlaptopI can get for $600 that would be better? Custom or stock computers, i don't care because I know how to install and upgrades.

If you're not looking to do any major gaming that system would be pretty good for $400. I wouldn't bother upgrading it unless you REALLY need a bit more HDD space.

Well I play alot of FPS's on my desktop, and want it to play most of those games. I still wanna be able to play some good games and not have to lag throughout the game. I mean I don't expect to play Crysis (can I?), but like HL2, CSS, and WOW without lagging badly.
