Okay, so I have an Alienware Aurora (Yes, wasn't a good idea but had a bad experience with one I put together myself and didn't want to chance it again) that I bought back in October.

Basically it's had some sort of problem ever since I've had it but has got increasingly worse in the last couple of months. I constantly have the PC freeze for a few seconds before all flash crashes and then I get a form of RAM error. Recently the PC actually wouldn't start up one time, saying there was no OS and I had to use to CD that came with the PC to repair / rebuild it. Games constantly crash also, Minecraft being the main one, saying something about a Binary Java error.

I've updated the Java, Flash and graphic card drivers and made sure I had the right ones for my x64 system. I've run various error test but don't really get anything. The PC can;t trace any viruses that could cause it either.

Any ideas would be VERY helpful.

If its giving you memory problems, its the memory, one of the sticks is faulty.

Can't you run a Memtest 86 from either a burned ISO or USB KEY ? and see if it get error : it it crash within that it surely ur Ram but it seem to be UR RAM
problem :if you open the case and change the ram do you void warranty LOL ?

because i don't think waiting 9-20 day FOR it been repair worth the hassle if the problem When you own build a PC : you send ur defective part for repair and when it ram you just buy substitute ram until ur are fixed : even if it just 2GB at 17.50$ at least the pc running if you are willing to wait 3 week for ur 40$-200$ ram module

i know a friend who owned a dell 5 year ago he waited 3 week for a fix when all that wus broken was : the HDD id imagine if it was the ram

I haven't run memtest on this PC but the last PC I had had a ram problem in which memtest didn't pick up after multiple tests.

I'll give memtest another go though and see,

if its still under warranty, call alienware and they will come to ur place and fix it. THAT is the point of alienware, for people with less knowledge being able to get MORE service.

Yep I'd say one of your ram sticks is a bust...but there is a small chance it's your vid if it only happens during gaming. I'd suggest ram first. If your under warranty call the Aliens. One thing I can vouch for is their stellar customer support. It's out of this world :)

Okay, so I went to go run memtest, took out one of the two sticks of ram.

The PC is doing what it did not very long ago, just saying their is no OS. Can't seem to do anything with it now.

I did tell Dell about these problems when I firt got it and they just shrugged it off as something I'm doing :/

Can't actually seem to do anything with it at all now

Just get a black screen saying 'No default or UI configuration directive found'

I did try both sticks, same thing.

I've eventually got the PC back up and running so might try to do the memtest again tomorrow.

I had a PC that kept blue screening but nobody could seem to figure out why. Changed the ram and it still did it.

Considering the recent boot problem, I wouldn't be surprised if it was in fact the motherboard...

Did you go into the bios and set the memory speed, timings, and voltage manually? Or did you try increasing the NB voltage a bit? It could have been a bad motherboard, CPU, memory, or PSU too, something could've been overheating.. There are alot of things that can cause a BSOD really...

Yeah, sadly I decided to give up with the PC and cut my losses Back onto my current PC. It hasn't not booted up since I've got it to boot up again. Dell thinks it may have been because the number one boot option was changed somehow from the hard disk to say the floppy drive. Sound like that good of been it? Another problem I forgot to mention is that quite often the PC when trying to shut it down will just continuously say 'logging off' inwhich I have to just hold the off button otherwise it never ends.
