Hey if your willing to wait just a little bit, I'm building a gaming PC for someone in the UK shortly with the new ATI 5970 video card (waiting for it to get back in stock). I could possibly build you a PC after I build his. I live in the US actually and I'm going to be shipping it over to him . 4,320 is a lot of money to waste on an overpriced alienware system and I could pretty much build you an extremely fast rig for only 1800-2200 pounds. That way you only have to spend about half the price (perhaps even less) :)

Spending that much money on a computer is madness. Unless you really need such a powerful workstation (in which case you would buy or build a workstation), but even then spending too much is unnecessary. Really, spending upwards of 4000$ for a gaming PC when a console costs 200-300$... Find some other things to spend money on that will really make you feel special for owning a rather unique item. A Leica camera. A fancy looking cruiser bike. Designer furniture (like the Milk table). Antiques. Or go travel.

yea but in all honesty u give me the money from what u would spend on an xps or alienware, me or any other exp. person with building p'cs can build something much better :), but not everyone wants to build their own p'c either and besides id rather save 239 bucks then not save anything at all but then again thats just my insight on it

Thats cool and thats your opinion, but the parts inside are no joke.I mean I can build a table and save my mom $200.00 dollors I mean theres always some mark up.I just think we over due it by saying there far over priced.I mean Take my $1499.99 and see what you build Im just saying they make it seem like its over priced by alot.Everything in retail has a mark up.Even ibuypower.com only beat it by $50.00 and I actually talked to a rep from there.I understand people that build it themselves put lots of pride in what they do and I understand that.

thats understandable and this is just convo your decision on what u want get is totally up to u but the prob what i really do not like about getting pre-builds is yes they have warrenty and thats fine in all but when somethings goes wrong u either gotta sit on customer service line for 7 hours like i did got nothing worked out or send it back, 1600 dollars on a rig that only lasted 1 day after i got it sent it back got my money back and spent the same amount on the rig im using now have something that works everyday plus i can overlcock it whenever i want but thats just my rig not everyone is going to have the same prob with pre-builds just becarful Dell isnt that great-well atlest there customer service isnt : /

I totaly see your point as far as the customer service goes and if I had the same thing happen to me I would be the same way,However I think calling it a joke is a little Harsh because the parts I want and get are not cheap parts and they are not marked up insanly high Thats why I checked with other companys and I learned here from you guys how to compare prices and things of that nature.

If you have money to burn why not go with Alienware? I would if I had cash to burn, but seeing as that day probably will never come, I'll stick to building my own/

I think thats the thing too I mean if I was on a budget and I really really need a computer and I could build one and save $200.00 and $300.00 then yeah I would definatly say build one.Another thing I can say is if you were into phenom AMd then it would be alot cheaper to go with a Amd build and a 5870 card thats a huge savings because the Alienware only has the i7 option.
