WAIT, DISREGARD THAT. In the second day, Empire's price went up to 17 Euros. Thanks Valve and SEGA!

Aw, I just bought Empire for $40. Oh well, I'll atleast be able to get the others cheap.

Rome is by far the best of any of the Total war games and has the best mods for it (search for Europa Barboarium sp?). Medieval 2 TW is a huge step up in graphics from Rome, and changes the mold with more units on the campaign map, and castles/cities which adds a little more strategy. I however hate Empire total war, as I think the game is wayyy to simplified compared to the earlier versions. Combat is bland and the AI is buggy, also fighting with muskets is just not as fun as using a huge phalanx to shield your spearmen that are attacking an invading elephant army!

I picked up Rome during the holiday sale for 2 bucks, but don't have either of the other two games. I played about 10 hours of Rome, and by the end I had so much land that half my cities were rioting and it was just annoying. Is that still a problem in the two newer ones? Even if it is, gonna pick up Empire but not sure about Medevial. Is Medival and the Rome expansion worth that 7 bucks?dlindenb2000

Slay the population on capture. Only enslave if they are happy (green) after being conquered, and only use the 3rd option (where you dont enslave and dont massacre, forget the name) if its on a big front and its a big city, and you plan on using it to retrain massive amounts of armies.

If you dont massacre alot, you'll end up having alot of unhappy cities that are not productive. If you play strategically, when the cities that you slayed grow unmanageable, you'll have conquered enough other small pop cities to outweigh the losses from the non-profitable ones.

Well from Rome onwards they have aged perfectly imo. I can't go back to playing Medieval 1 though, I don't like the controls as much for that game. I don't think it's included in that package though, so no worries on the oldest ones.

Umm, the Euro price of Empire has gone up. A lot. It's 17 Euros now, up from 10.4 yesterday.

Meanwhile, those bloody Americans get it CHEAPER. 10 dollars, down from 13.

But he megapack costs the same.
