Just wanted to share this information as these are some tremendously good deals.
Can anyone comment on Alpha Protocol? I know it's no big deal at all at such a cheap price. I'm assuming it's well worth it. :)

[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]I'm somewhat interested in AP,but the gameplay bugs are really turning me away.Alpha Protocol for 6$ is a steal

If you want to play it for the story or choices, then definitely get it. If you want it for the gameplay, don't get it. It's a lot like Mass Effect in some ways, and the timer on the conversation wheel is actually pretty cool.
Is Alpha Protocol really that great? The critics absolutely hated it. pvcf01Only some U.S. critics. A lot of European critics actually scored it quite well. I found the game to be a lot of fun, WELL worth $6.

It has some serious bugs and glitches (motion blur doesn't seem to work well on my PC), but it is actually not bad at all. The AI is about as bad as you can get, but it is well worth $6.

I really enjoyed the game, as much as ME2?ME1 personally myself. Critics definatly dissagree with me on that, but thats how I feel. Game surprised me alot. To me it reminded me alot of the reviews that Gothic3 got in north america, along with Risen to.. critics didnt think much of it but I enjoyed it alot more then Fallout3, Oblivion and other rpgs that critics just loved.
Yea, once you get by the atrociously and frustratingly broken hacking system they have in the game, it's pretty fun and interesting. killercuts3I saw this post before I started playing and thought "how bad it could be?" Then I played the game and HO-LY **** that is one terrible hacking system. And the mouse controls for it render hacking nigh-impossible, though I'm going to go back and see how the game works with a controller to see if that helps make it more playable.
The hacking sucks but its not very hard once you get the hang of it. Think after the first two hours I figured the thing out, was annoying as hell though the first few hours lol. But after that and nwo when I play it I do them everytime. Definatly hacking and animations could be alot better, but thats realy my only gripes with the game, the story, characters, choices and most of the gameplay I realy enjoyed.
I bought Alpha Protocol during the Steam Xmas sales and after a playthrough I can say I would pay more. It's a bit unpolished but I didn't encounter anything gamebreaking. I had played a stealth character and I really had a blast with it, here's a gameplay video I made. It's definitely a unique RPG.
Alpha Protocol and Batman AA are no brainers. Batman was on steam this last week and speaks for itself so it doesn't need much convincing.
About Alpha Protocol TC its underrated and a really good rpg.
A few things, AI can be inconsistent, camera has tendacy to swing around at times but can be fixed through editing a ini file. Also the opening stages of the game won't make a good first impression so give it a chance at least until after the beginning stages.
The story I thought was good & complex, lots of different characters to get to know and interact with. Will come across a lot of difficult decisions to make no choice can be wrong but hard to make. Different factions, motives. Your actions and relationships you make develop the story throughout the whole game and impact on a characters likeability.
The shooting isn't that great but it should be treated rpg wise so you need to spend points to improve accuracy & range and the abilities you gain gives you a greater advantage.
About the hacking I thought after the first few times to get used it became very easy but yes it could have been better and the controls was designed for analogue sticks. The lockpicking the same as I found it to be no challenge whatsoever. Having said that I was fine with both of them.
It has its shortcomings, poor execution wasn't released in a perfect state and had a lot more potential on top of my own feelings that it was great so if it was perfected and refined it could have been something even greater. Some people will get to really like it and some probably just won't be able to get into it for very understandable reasons.
A blend of Mass Effect and Deus Ex, has a few problems if can be looked past them then you'll have a very enjoyable experience.
Anyway if you already don't know what I'm getting at:P Alpha Protocol at that price if anyone was on the fence then now its an easy choice. Get it.
[QUOTE="pvcf01"]Is Alpha Protocol really that great? The critics absolutely hated it. RK-MaraNot that many critics actually hated it. A metascore of 72 is by no means bad. It has its problems, but the good outshine the bad. it's still a decent score but it's probably obsidian's lowest rated game.
( in before someone mentions DRAGON AGE II )

I just got it and have been trying it. So far its a lot of fun IMO
EDIT: Just played for a bit and I would save your money. There appears to be a pretty nasty memory leak. It goes from running fine to totally unplayable in about 15-20 minutes
No you cannot. It was 7.50 on steam earlier in the week thoughDoes anyone know if I can register Batman AA in Steam once I download it?
