Hi, currently I'm playing Empire total War on a 2yr old desktop and I am limited to medium settings for land battles and low settings for sea battles. My CPU runs on a 933 socket which is all but obsolete now, so I was wondering if, based off the processor I'm using, its worth upgrading either the video or RAM, (ie are either of those seriously bottlenecking me?) or will I have to wait till I buy a new computer with a better socket to enjoy the new games with full graphics. processor: AMD athlon 64 processor 3700+ 2.2 Ghz RAM: 2.00 GB Video: Nvidia GeForce 7600GT OS: Vista 32 bit Thanks.qwerty567
Best to buy a new computer right now. Don't bother upgrading old rubbish to be honest with you.

I agree with teddyrob, but probably for reasons he or she doesnt understand. Your motherboard probably has a max fsb of 1066 at the best. If you upgrade to a duel core, which is like $70 on Amazon, then upgrade your gpu, you will be exceeding the capabilities of your motherboard and chipset. You would be much better served going either i7 or am2+.Please Log In to post.
