I just upgraded my video card aftera fewyears from a 8800GTS to a GTX470. Now I am looking at the rest of my rig and am just wondering if im being bottlenecked.. Here are links to what I got:

CPU:

RAM: 4gigs

Mobo: I don't know if this affects speed, but might as well put it up.

You can try and overclock the CPU and see what happens. The rest seems fine for now.

Overclocking your CPU to 3ghz or more would eliminate any sort of bottleneck. Overall it's still a very nice rig.

It might be the mobo. As I can see it's only a PCI Express x16. Not a PCI Express 2.0 x16. I don't know enough about hardware to tell you that this is 100% the problem. As far as I can tell, the CPU and RAM are fine. Then again maybe the RAM isn't fast enough..

There will always be a bottleneck in a computer. Over clock the CPU and graphics if you haven't already and it's not going to struggle with any games.

TC if you're running Windows Vista or 7 the Windows Experience Index actually is useful for seeing overall system performance.

The lowest score is determined by the slowest part - deemed by the WEI. It actually helped me realize that my CPU was slowing down my video hardware.

^ this. also. overclocking that cpu would get rid of the bottleneck. you dont need a huge overclock to see formidable gains. but getting over 3.0 would get rid of any sort of noticeable bottleneck. but actually. good luck overclocking. reading multiple reviews on newegg with that motherboard and q6600's. yikes. lmao.

There is a very slight (see: negligible) difference between 16x pci-e and 16x pci-e 2.0.
