Between the socket AM3 (Phenom X4) and 1366 (Core i7 X4).
Comparing those two CPU abt their performance and prices (prices of the compatible mobo also). Which is worth buying?

Lol, tom's. Anyone who referes to Tom's is nuts. Their reviews have always been fishy and they always favor Intel. Look at this, it iwll help you:

Very true, that is the first time that I've seen results like in that Toms review.
The [H]OCP review with quadfire(minimum gpu bottleneck) showed very small to no (at times)gains in gaming with an i7 and that is how most gaming reviews that I have seen panned out.
I'm glad you are finally not flaming one of my posts. Back to the topic, if the only thing you do is game, both will do fine for now. But an I7 will probably be more future proof because of the socket. AM3 is not brand new, the technologies in it are probably going to be replaced with AM3+ or AM4 in Q1 2010. So both are good for now, but if you'd not like to spend more money on different sockets in the future, get an I7. Also, don't worry about I5, they are just weaker versions of I7 CPUs. Finally, HyperThreading makes no sense. I remember when I had my P4 with HT, it was nice, but when I got C2D it was soooo much faster. Logical cores don't really make much sense most of the time.
