Amazon digital stuff... WOW!

Amazon is selling some PC digital games and there are some really nice prices...

The Witcher = $5

GTA IV = $5

GTA:EfLC = $7.50

Condemned = $3.74

Space Siege = $3.74

And the one that I just bought...

Mafia II = $12.50

I already own the others I posted here, but maybe you guys will find some new games for great prices...

So how does the Amazon digital game service work?

They have you download their Games & Software Downloader client (only for downloading doesn't need to be running to play games). You can only download 1 game at a time. Speeds for me are ~600-700kbps. After a game finishes downloading the client extracts the files because they're encrypted; it takes a while. You get unlimited downloads of any games you payed for. After the game installs, run it's exe and you're good to go.

Well, first off, set up an account with Amazon.

You have to download the Amazon Games & Software Downloader, and then it does the download. It is actualy a very quick downloader. I averaged 2.5-3.5 MB/s and the downloader itself is a very small file.

All in all... I see my self as using Amazon to make future digital purchases if they can keep these prices like these. I will still use Steam the most, but this will be up there with D2D.

I think you get an email (I don't check mine much) telling you to log into your account and go to your games/software library; the activation codes are listed under any games that need them.

sweet the witcher for 5 bucks i was so mad when i missed it on steam a few days ago but now its ok

Yes. The first Condemned is really good. Don't expect a shoooter though. There is some shooting but the main combat focus is on hand-to-hand. When it comes to the guns you pick up, they only have the ammo in the clip/mag, but this is good... it is a horror game...
