Hi all,

I'm just about to pull the trigger on the Samsung LNT-3242h from Amazon.com. However, I do have one concern ordering from them. Does anyone know if a warranty is void if I purchase from them? It's technically not a "certified Samsung dealer." I was told by a Best Buy employee that Samsung can refuse to repair the product if purchased from a third-party, which in this case, Amazon is. Any ideas anyone? Anyone ever buy a set from Amazon.com?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I always suggest buying from a authorized seller for any brand as you never know if then your warranty can be invalid if they choose. Even costco is not authorized, but they add their own warranty. Though, there may even be legal reasons that a company has to provide warranty despite what they might try to say, who knows. I guess to know for sure would be research. But I'd play safe or buy a extended warranty from a 3rd party.

Also, maybe try looking at some places like Onecall.com or Vanns.com

Here's your tv at Vanns:
http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/462998632

It's $999, but there it's still free shipping and "no tax". If you have to pay tax at Amazon then the price difference might might be $55 in the end. So what do you get paying $55 more? First, Vanns is authorized, and they include this nice Harmony remote for free http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/410085845

Look at Vanns.com store rating here, you can't go wrong ordering from them compared to Amazon:

Thanks guys. I did get a reply from Samsung saying that they would honor the warranty as long as the set is new and arrives unopened, which it is (not refurbished). So, I suggest people consider Amazon when purchasing a set. Well, a Samsung set anyway. My dealings with Amazon have always been great and they really do have low prices. In this case, I bought the LN-T3242H for $890. That's $60 cheaper than the list price at American - the cheapest retail store I could find with it - and that does not include tax. I paid no tax or shipping with my Amazon set. Yay!
