Amd or Intel Processors

Well, I'm a price-concious shopper, so answer one basic question and then I can recommend one to you: are you going to overclock?

If yes, Intel is a better deal, as some of them can overclock extremely well.

If no, then go with AMD. They tend to be a bit cheaper, but run hotter (inhibiting OCing).

there are heaps of things better than a core 2 duo.. but the intel's are better for Ocing because they actually under clock them when releasing so its easier and safer to over clock them to a little over what they would have been.

 AMD's however, have a better architecture so a same level of intell will be inferior... gaming is usually better with an intel tho. especially because of the OCing. but an external fan on an amd will solve its OC prob. but intel still go better. (remember, they underclock tho)

Pentium 4s is better than Athlon 64s

If you comapred Athlon 64 4000+ to a Pentium 4 524 (3.06GHz)

Athlon is faster but to 3200+, 3400+ maybe more Pentium 4 524 is better than those 2.

Pentium 4 670 (This is the best Pentium 4 CPU) is alot faster than Athlon64 4000+ (I think this is the best Athlon64 CPU)

Clearly thats why every review has been released showing atm the core duo is superior to equivlents of AMD's and even have benchmarks that outdue the higher processors :roll:...  This is before overclocks of course..
