Cpu is great. i would go a bit better on the GPU though.

^this. 1055t isnt much faster in current games. Get the 955 and a cheap aftermarket cooler and raise the multiplier a few steps. That way you get a nice 3.6-3.8 Ghz Quad core and a faster GPU which will give you better performance in games.

It'd be best to settle for a DX11 GPU since it runs more efficiently than DX10. Something like a GTX 560 or 6850 would be great for now and adding a second later.

Why would someone recommend a GTX 295, they are old now, dont have Direct X 11 and dont scale as well as newer cards in SLI. Its old tech people move on.

Awesome peformance compared to what exactly? The old version of SLI doenst scale that great in a lot of games and its an outdated chip by 2 generations, doesnt matter if I could get one for £50 I still wouldnt recommend buying one, newer games wont last on it at decent settings. I am not saying its a terrible card, I am just saying its a bit dated now.
