lol [QUOTE="Shuraijuro"]Kinda sucks at this time to build a PC considering that the i9's are coming as early as q1 of next year. it honestly up to u if you can overclock the hell out of a CPU then get an AMD but then again you really dont have to overclock intel ; ) so id say get an intel with cheaper Nvidia card like 9800gtx+ save the rest for the 300 series coming. so next year you can upgrade to beast 300 series. i5 with 300 series better than anything AMD could come up with.ColdfireTrilogy
wait wat .... get an AMD for overclocking 0_0 do you do any of it yourself???? AMD chips have always been pitiful at overclocks. Heck look at any OC races among the scene groups and you will rarely find any AMD CPUs as they barely overclock to a significant (read worthwhile) amount..... actually the phenom II black editions can overclock quite well..
not to mention the phenom II isnt all greatly out preformed in gaming anyway. maybe a little(but not like some people make it out to be)
now dont get me wrong, intel makes the fastest cpus. no doubt and they overclock better usually. i would get one myself (if i was building a new rig Icore9 or something) but im not, im upgrading, and going from a 6000+ dual core to a phenom II BE 940 quad, i will gain alot of performance, not to mention i can OC the phenom II much higher than my 6000+... but im not gonna take the quad higher than 3.3/3.4ghz at the most. its all i really need. saving money so i can get a good gpu, cause a 940 PII slightly OC'd with a real powerful gpu.. will play just about anything i want it to, at just about any setting i want. for a lot cheaper price.
no offense but people looking to get the max intel setups are seeking great 3dscores.. because in gaming it isnt that much of a difference anymore between the Phenom IIs and the icores. (sure there will be notices here and there, but overall not that much)
i guess it really all depends on your budget then... great performance/ great price amd... best performance/ higher price intel.
same for ati and nvidia. atleast thats how it has seemed to me. although nvidia costs more, i kinda like it more, and my mobo is an sli mobo, so for this pc im sticking with nvidia. but im not all that biased when it comes to cpu or gpu, i mean they all do good if you know what your getting, and what your getting it for. gf pc is amd like mine, but we have her with ati radeon 3870, and when we upgrade her it will be to the hd5### series.
and our next full builds in a few years might end up being intel. depends on what is offered at that time..
