Taken from Videocardz.com

AMD Future is AMD

AMD is teasing something for September 25th (Exactly a year after GPU14 — Hawaii launch).

We have absolutely no idea what is is, but judging from the teaser we have a new pill campaign. Those pills kinda look like Red (Radeon) and Blue (Water). Any thoughts? They do remind me of recently leaked picture of hybrid cooling for next GPU.

This launch could be related to graphics cards. The only GPU in our mind is Tonga XT, planned almost for this time. Other possibilities are new Hawaii variant (XTX), completely new GPU (Fiji),

… or something totally boring like CPU :)

Dammit! I didn't check VideoCardZ since yesterday :P.

"Can you name our first product that processed graphics independently of the CPU?"

What the hell this suppose to mean?

I guess its about FirePro...

edit: If its not FirePro my guess would go to Tonga XT or Carrizo APU...

I really hope it's not APU rubbish. I'm trying to hang on to see if they have something that will compete with Nvidia's latest offerings but that itch is getting quite bad.

Red pill AMD CPU, Blue pill Intel CPU ?

Hmmm... Maybe they will reveal a taste of Zen microarchitecture?

That would be more interesting than any GPU...

Well not for me either, since it will take some time for games to be bottlenecked by an i7 4770K...

But I would love to see competition in the CPU market as well.

I wouldn't mind to see a $500 Intel 8-core Broadwell-E next year or even a $350 one...

Like phenom did to Q6600, from $850 in 6-12 months you could find it at $250...

edit: I give up.

I searched around the web and I am now more confused...

This might be:

1. Tonga XT

2. Hawaii XTX with water cooling

3. New GPU architecture.

4. New APU

5. New CPU

6. New Fire Pro

7. New ARM desktop CPU

8. Something entirely new...

9... lol

Reminds of the Matrix movie for some reason, the red and blue pills.

I'm going to guess its a low-power APU for tablets and those 2 in 1 laptops/tablet things. No idea about the other pill?

It better come soon. I really want to order some new gpu's by the end of the week. Decided I can't wait for Ti's and I'm willing to consider AMD if they can step up.

I highly doubt that they have a 20nm GPU ready.

AMD already stated that they don't have 20nm ready till 2015Q1. Its not about AMD anyway its about fab availability.

But. I highly suspect R9 285X in order to counter the next Nvidia GPU GTX960 and a 295X2 type of cooler (water cooling) for 290X model (maybe 290XTX or 295X) with performance between GTX970 and GTX980 in order to counter both.

Hopefully it's Radeon related. I'm still waiting for GTX960 announcement but better yet if there is competition and lower prices by the time I decide to buy.

A new Radeon 300 Series to counter Nvidia's GTX 900. I hope they will give a similar performance with lower price so that i can buy a cheap but powerful GPU

Bullcrap. So much hype for nothing...

From VideoCardZ:

UPDATE: Looks like all this hype was about Indian launch the whole this the time. Move along folks.

to be honest if i were amd , i wont rush into releasing new gpu , cause 290x is still good , and dx 12 is still not out yet , maybe q4 2015 , i m wondering what the games that support dx 12 ? and ppl are hyped by 970 and 980 ,even with 780ti is almost the same as 980 , who is going to throw his 780ti and 780 to get 980 for 5% increase in performance and 0 dx12 games ?

The problem for AMD is not GTX980.

Its the GTX970 and its price. Its performance isn't phenomenal, a little faster than 290X and a little slower than 780ti, but the $330 price is the dagger at AMD's heart.

If Nvidia chose to price GTX970 $450 or more they wouldn't care but now GTX970 makes R9 290X, R9 290 and even the $280-$290 priced R9 280X (cause with $40-$50 more you can get the GTX970) unbuyable.

The only way I see for AMD to sell, is to price R9 290X $320 and R9 290 for $270.... Until they 'll release new architecture...

Yeah. 100% agree with you. People with GTX780 and R9 290 and better should not touch this and wait for GM200 variants (980ti and Titan II). Even people with R9 280X or GTX770 (where I believe is the edge of decision).

Well there will be always people with very good financial status that they are buying everything new...
